Drinking songs on the radio

Set up live gigs with each other, announce gigs you're playing around the country or whatever, talk about how the show went, post links to recordings, etc.

Drinking songs on the radio

Post by jimtyrrell »

Starting this Friday (Feb 27), I'll be featured on The Daily Planet Morning Show (WPNH FM, 100.1) at 7am EVERY Friday morning, performing some drinking songs from the album Time For Another Round: Gold Edition. I'll be making a musical appearance on the show on the morning of St. Patrick's Day as well. Fun!

Sadly, they don't appear to have an online stream of the broadcast. But I think I can get mp3s of the show, so I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

That is so cool. Congrats.

Does a drinking song in the morning translate into drinking in the morning?

Well, the first day went all right. In true drinking songs fashion, I forgot the words at one point. But it was well-enough received, and I'll be back there next Friday.

You can hear the two songs I played (The Harvard Line and The Wall) at www.drinkingsong.org.

And ... is this still going on?

And how's it going, if indeed it's still going?

Yesterday was the big day. I went in at 7am and played songs on the morning show. Then I went to Ragged Mountain Ski Resort to play a 2:30-5:30 show at Talullah's Tavern, and from there to The Lucky Dog in Plymouth for a 7-11 show.

It all went well, and a lot of local folks heard the broadcasts. I gave away copies of the CDs on the air, and talked to people who called in. The venues I play at were pleased to hear themselves mentioned on the air. So I guess it was good. The performances were just me with my guitar in front of one mike, so the sound could have been better.

I'm actually kind of relieved it's over. Now I can put the drinking songs aside for a bit and work on getting ready for the North Carolina shows.
