Major homepage update

I made a huge change to the homepage. Under the songs where it had mentioned "winamp" and "quicktime" for 10+ years I updated those to "Windows Media Player" and "iTunes". If you encounter any bugs related to this change, please let me know.

Now that I think about, do we even need to have any footnote about how the songs are in mp3 format at all at this point??? :)

Technically speaking, isn't QuickTime the media player and iTunes just the shitty app that attempts to ruin your life?

In more homepage news, I finally got around to adding a "Fifteen Years Ago" section to the homepage. In doing so, I made one slight other change that I would be shocked if anybody notices. But if you think you know what it is, I'd like to hear your guesses. :P

It appears that the "Five Years Ago" etc bars are now text in a span rather than images. Is that new?

Darn, I guess that was easier than I thought it would be. But maybe I should have excluded you, Spud, and fluffy from guessing. ;)

I couldn't identify the font used in the images, so I am trying to make a best guess at the closest equivalent that is available from Google Fonts. Seems like it's a condensed sans serif of some kind. My first attempt didn't have the correct kind of lower case y's it turns out, so I updated it with another font (Roboto Condensed) which seems closer.

Yeah i looked at doing that once and figured the font was squeezed or something in photoshop or whatever.

Heh, ages ago I had mocked up a pure-CSS page design, and using actual text labels was one of the aspects I cared about the most. Nice to see that change finally making it into the real site.

Also did something get fixed on the RSS feed? I don't see any related code changes but I suddenly got a huge backlog of missing items. Probably related to the sitenews stuff, which has always been fragile.

(Also Sam, remember there's a git repo attached to the site directory)

I didn't touch anything with any of the multiple RSS feeds (there's more than one, right, fights and news?).

I completely forgot about the git repo. So do I make changes there and push them and then they get ftp'd to the server automatically somehow? Or do I have to make changes in both places myself? Or is it a periodic snapshot of what's on the FTP server?

Winamp 4 EVA! Whipping the llama's ass since... 1997! Do people really use Windows Media Player? Does Windows Media Player even still exist? Last I remember... Windows was pushing some Microsoft Groove nonsense. VLC Media Player FTW!
