Art archive

Post by Lunkhead »

Probably nobody noticed but the thumbnail view in the art archive was broken. I fixed it, mostly:

http://www.songfight.org/artindex.php?thumbs=true

Now the thumbnails show up, except, for some fights it seems like the data being used for the art archive doesn't really match up with the art filenames, and the art filenames don't really match up with the fight data. For example, the "Red Robot" fight key is red_robot by the art files are "RedRobot_..." instead of "red_robot...". But the art shows up properly on that fight's page, just not on the art archive. I don't suppose anybody who's still active here has any clue about the discrepancies there? I'm inclined to just "fix" the art data so it matches up with the fight data and so that all the thumbnails show up on the art archive, but, I don't know if that would break something else. :/

Meanwhile, since I was poking around in there anyway, I think I maybe figured out how to add art submission accounts, so, I updated the page about that to tell folks to contact me rather than Spud. If you want to submit art, let me know via DM.

Ah, nice, I think I'd noticed it being broken a few years ago but more pressing things were in the way.

The old fights' thumbnails were all very ad-hoc and generally went unused. It's probably fine to fix the archive data (just don't change fight keys, obvs, who knows what else that would break...)

As a side note that means absolutely nothing, I added most of my songfight cover art to my pinterest page just so I'd have a copy to look at somewhere and I noticed that when using the funky P button on my browser that the thumbnail doesn't show up. I'm assuming it's too small to add to Pinterest but... who knows. *shrug* At any rate, everything has been looking great of late.

As another side note to the side note that I've already sided.. erm, noted....

This fight has six unique art entries which (according to my very quick scroll down the art archive) is a record (if you count the coverbot, which I do.)

The record for artists submitting art for one fight seems to be for the fight "Jimmy Hat" with five. So if another artist wants to tie the record they could submit art before the deadline. (Which would also increase the unique art entries record.)

Anyway, the Stone Palace art is missing. http://www.songfight.org/artpage.php?key=356 on a couple of submissions (which could be repeats or a mistake in submission.)
