"Plain Songs for Songs and Tigers?"

Post by fluffy »

On the "Ease Up On the Drugs" fight, I'm pretty sure that band's name is "Plain Songs for Doves and Tigers," especially considering that's what the filename indicates.

Some people think the system isn't automated enough. Seems TOO automated to me, since this got past it.

Some sample file names from this week's submissions. If yours is in here, bad on you. If you can't even tell if yours is in here or not, double bad on you.

theLMNOPotomus-wss.mp3
PQ_Ease_up_on_the_drugs_I_go_with_you.mp3
CapitalistYouth-WSS.mp3
future_boy_-_why_so_serious.mp3
IllCricketCrew_WSS.mp3
WreckdoM_EUOTD.mp3
titiansofeklektoclash-euotd.mp3
thanksforthefrisbee_Euod.mp3
whysoserious 2.mp3
whysoserious.mp3
CharlieCheney_EaseUp.mp3

A beer to the first person who can identify all of the errors in these filenames. To be paid up next time I see you (I already owe BZL and Heuristics Inc. one - might as well make it a pitcher).

The only things I can see, would be:

1. Should be "billyslittletrip_euotd.mp3" not billyslittletrip_ease_up_on_the_drugs

2. Doesn't it have to all be in lowercase?

3. No "-", only "_"

in the ballpark?

theLMNOPotomus-wss.mp3 (band name not all lower case, dash instead of underscore)
PQ_Ease_up_on_the_drugs_I_go_with_you.mp3 (band name not all lower case, multiple underscores, title not abbreviated, extra text besides band name and acronym)
CapitalistYouth-WSS.mp3 (band name not all lower case, dash instead of underscore)
future_boy_-_why_so_serious.mp3 (band name not all one word, band and title not seperated by a single underscore, title not abbreviated)
IllCricketCrew_WSS.mp3 (band name not all lower case)
WreckdoM_EUOTD.mp3 (band name not all in lower case)
titiansofeklektoclash-euotd.mp3 (dash instead of underscore)
thanksforthefrisbee_Euod.mp3 (wrong acronym)
whysoserious 2.mp3 (no band name, no underscore, extra text besides band name and title, title not abbreviated)
whysoserious.mp3 (no band name, no underscore, title not abbreviated)
CharlieCheney_EaseUp.mp3 (band name not in all lower case, title not abbreviated)

I suspect that putting the title abbreviation in all caps is a no-no as well, but I can't find a mention of that anywhere.

I am aware of at at least two more. Of course, if someone finds more that I did after you have found all of mine, they will steal the beer away!

Isn't this a fun game for a boring Sunday?

Rabid, I'm pretty sure you didn't find any that Eric didn't already have, and you missed a few of his, as well. Good try though, and nice ethic - starting from scratch.

Oh, you wanted every band/song listed to be analyzed.

OK, everything Erik and Rabz said, and I raise them "whysoserious 2.mp3
whysoserious.mp3" submitted twice.

Believe it or not, those were submitted by two entirely different bands.

Come on you guys. Don't tell me it's too hard. I have to play this game every week! And you are so close....

(just to help you along, I will give you a hint. I didn't catch one of them when I posted the songs, so it got posted with the error in place)
