frequent server errors

Post by AJOwens »

Getting a lot of these lately when trying to read the RNZB reviews thread -- most recently 9:37 EDT. Logging in may have helped, but then I got one trying to log out.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@songfight.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Occasionally. I wouldn't call it "frequent," myself. I wonder if DH is already overallocating the new server...

I had half a dozen consecutive errors just trying to read your answers. Perhaps "sporadic" is a better word, but they do seem to be happening more often. (I first encountered one late last week.)

I haven't gotten any of those yet. Then again, I'm in a way different time zone, so I'm probably missing the load peaks.

I was going to post that I hadn't gotten any, but then I saw 2 or 3 yesterday.

... and one trying to post this.

Yeah it's definitely getting worse now. Time to open up a Dreamhost trouble ticket, I think. phpBB itself shouldn't be causing ISEs, but a bad php fcgi config could.

Got a couple this morning trying to post to the rollcall thread... but then one of the posts showed up after I posted this, even though I'd gotten the server error. If I have a double post in the rollcall thread, it means they both did...

The problem seems to have cleared up; I'm not seeing those messages any more.
