Missing Song..

Post by unexpectedbowtie »

Hello...

first time songfighter here.

I submitted my song for this week way before the deadline.. (Crashing Cars, Awarding Stars)

unexpectedbowtie_ccas.mp3 was the filename - 3.3mb... yet I've not appeared on the list.

Can someone enlighten me as to what's gone wrong? :)

Thanken

Titling the message with the right fight title would have been helpful.

ah.

I just dug through my emails and saw that I'd written 'Chasing' instead of Crashing..

Sorry about that. Typo :(

I tried so hard too...

Unless Spud enacted some huge change in the implementation process this fight, he still reads each e-mail addressed to Fightmaster, and if it contains an entry, he posts it. Given how the songs get processed for uploading (which is to say: manually, by a Spud himself), it seems unlikely that typing in a close-but-no-cigar title was the reason for your song's exclusion.

Seems to be up now, though, so I guess all is well.

well I mean I saw that was what had happened when I went to fix it but yeah Spud tells me that it was just that it was submitted so early that it got lost in all the spam. (and there was a hell of a lot of it.) That's one of the worst parts of the Song Fight submission process from the admin perspective. It doesn't help that Dreamhost's webmail interface is a pile of poo.

No botherrr.. I had checked everything so carefully. I can't believe that I managed to get the wrong title o_O

I'll hold off till nearer the submission date in future if that helps!

Cheers for sorting things out though.

Yeah, the reason for that is kind of a sound infrastructure thing but there's a few other ways they could have solved it. It'd be nice if there were shell access on the new mail servers, so we could do proper procmail+bogofilter. Oh well. I switched to GMail for Domains a while ago and it's okay I guess.
