Aspect ratio is about the horizontal vs. vertical scale factor. Also I didn't see the original posts but Manhattan Glutton specifically referred to the horizontal scale of one word vs. the other.

also I'm going to do my best to ignore this fucking thread from now on (and probably most of the other 'quality control' or 'complaints and suggestion' threads which turn into these bitchfests because seriously)

I love you guys. You're all creative, fantastic people.

Not sarcastic.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I'm not familiar with "aspect ratio" in the context of fonts settings (e.g. in Word, Photoshop, etc.) so I don't feel comfortable assuming that I know exactly what Spud meant. I would rather just make a place where Spud can provide more information at some point if he feels like it, where everybody can see and benefit from that information.

Aww, come on fluf. I was just trying to lighten the mood. Things were getting way too serious in here. I don't really think SF should be called song penis. I was just trying to impress Spud that I got the font and color right. :P

Yeah, but you still got the aspect ratio wrong. :) As much as I might wish it was, the logo is not square.

Here's a start: http://www.songfight.org/standards/

While I have tried to be somewhat comprehensive, and have provided a great many downloadable files, I am sure that there will be questions.
I have not yet covered how the logo should be placed on a page, shirt, or product, or how it should combine with other graphic elements, etc.
I am working on those, but I thought that this first draft would be helpful.

Wow, that's awesome! Great work Spud. Thanks for doing that. When I have a few minutes this weekend I'll update the embeddable player to use the 100px "SONG FIGHT!" (on one line) image. Yay!

I found a typo!

"Red on white is the preferred "official" version, but there are time in which. . ." should be "times" (probably "times when").

Also, to ease the worries of the literal-minded, the overlaid 'reduce "FIGHT" to 85%' should be 'reduce "FIGHT!" to 85%" (including the exclamation mark).

I feel so useful! :)

Yeah, there's not a lot of agreement on that. Drives me crazy. Even on the site itself, it's not consistent. But then, it pisses me of that Big Dog (the clothing company) can't determine if they are Big Dog or Big Dogs.

I always split the difference and spell it as one word with both song and fight capitalized. Like so: SongFight!. Eh. I dunno.

This will be very helpful in a number of ways, including getting visual artists to make cover art and promotional materials for the live shows. Kudos all around, Spud.

Spud. I'm going to have to insist that you re-do your style thingy. It seems that your aspect ratio is square like you. It should be slightly off like me. 400px X 398px just makes more sense to me.

...plus, why aren't two of the color choices plaid or zebra? Think outside the box, square! ...teehee, i love puns.
