Fightmaster too awesome

Post by Chumpy »

Whaaaa? New songs posted on the same day as they're due, I could get used to that. Seriously though, excellent work on getting everything out so quickly, I really appreciate it. For folks obsessed with Song Fight, that in-between period where you finish your song, and nobody's heard it, you don't know what the next song is, and you're waiting for results from last week's fight can be agonizing.

I'm searching for the "Like" button on this post, but I can't find one. Please don't take this as a suggestion.

Oh wow, thanks! I appreciate that. There are a lot of steps involved but I'm slowly automating as many of them as I can. The most time consuming part is still going through the emails and mp3s, compiling the list of artist names, and checking and fixing the mp3 filenames.

But don't get used to day-of-deadline updates. Not knowing exactly when the songs are going to go up is part of the fun of the whole thing. :P

Also it helps when the community has provided the cover art before the deadline too. Thanks to JB for that, and to glennny and Jerkatorium for their recent heroic efforts in that department.

Note: Want to mention that Margaret Benson provided art before I submitted mine, and we appreciate that contribution as well! You can see hers in the archive: http://www.songfight.org/artpage.php?key=877

Oh wow, I didn't even notice that. Thanks Margaret Benson! I'm sorry I accidentally overlooked your art. It seems like something is amiss in the Cover Art Archive. JB, any idea why your accidental "The Joke" art shows up near the top of the list, between Margaret's "DotD" cover and your "DotD" cover...? That seems wonky to me.

Wow. That is terrible.

OK, then, maybe what is weird is that it is also showing your "The Joke" art lower down the page next to the other "The Joke" art from Pigfarmer Jr.

Also, the art submission page says:
The user name and password required below are NOT your board name and password. Contact Spud for an art submission account.
But it doesn't inform people of how to contact Spud or who Spud is or why they would contact Spud... Maybe we should update that to say "email fightmaster@songfight.net"?

That's probably the least we could do. ;)

JB had submitted art for "The Joke." Unfortunately, this was wiped out when he accidentally submitted "Day of the Dead" art under the name "The Joke," because of the way that the art is uploaded.

I'm, uh, gonna fix that right now.

Just want to reiterate how much I appreciate the folks who do all the grungy work that goes along with running the fights and keeping the site running. Thank you.
