It should be spelt "capitalise" - you Americans and your wacky 'zed' usage.EightLeggedOedipus wrote:Oh my god now it's driving me crazy... Thread titles shoudl all be capitalized the same way. Oh no I'm jet-lagged and tired and cranky. I am the peepee.

Hmmm - the Macquarie accepts both too. This could be the end of civilis(z)ation as we know it.j$ wrote:Actually, I think you'll find (in the UK at least) 'z' is the dictionary-approved alternative. That may just be further grovelling to the big daddy in our special relationship, but who are we to argue with the OED?

According to the MLA Style guide, no prepositions should get capitalization, regardless of length. Also, the "to" in an infinitive form should not be capitalized. Finally, the last word in a title needs to be capitalized.EightLeggedOedipus wrote:Oh my god now it's driving me crazy... Thread titles shoudl all be capitalized the same way. I would consider the parenthesized text to be a subtitle; thus, each part has its own final word.

One could argue that using diacritical marks can produce irrationally non-whole-number quantities of letters. And as any mathematician will tell you, the real numbers are not countable. ^_^tviyh wrote:also it should be "three letters or fewer."Caravan Ray wrote:It should be spelt "capitalise" - you Americans and your wacky 'zed' usage.EightLeggedOedipus wrote:Capitalize all words except non-leading articles and prepositions of three letter or less.
