SongFight! "business" cards
I would like to design or have someone in the community design a business card shaped piece of paper or card stock with the following information on it:
(the SF! logo)
SongFight!
http://www.songfight.org
A weekly songwriting competition.
Presented by JB and Spud
Then I could print out and carry these cards around to give out to potential new listeners. When I've told people about SF! in the past I felt like a verbal description wasn't really enough, so I've often written the URL down on a scrap of paper or a napkin. A card with more info would be both more memorable and more "professional looking", possibly making it more likely that people would actually check out the site when they got home and found the card in their pocket.
JB, Spud, what do you think? Would that be OK? I think I would use a card like that maybe once every month or two when I meet somebody that I think would actually like the site.
If you like the idea and other people are interested I could host the file so that others could print out the info cards as well. Or you could host it, or whatever.

Whoa. I was thinking of this the other day. But I was thinking posters to put up at musicy places. Y'know, stores, open mic places, concert venues, blah de blah. Business cards would be extra swanky though. I've tried to explain SongFight to other open mic-ers before and failed rather spectacularly.

It would be cool if the cards had some space on them where you'd fill in your songfight pseudonym, as well... "Hi, I'm _______ and you can hear me at songfight.org." Something more clever than that, but, ya know...

Until we get some nicer ones, try <A href="http://home.comcast.net/~mrebo/sfcards/ ... .doc">this .doc file.</A>
Print these using any widely available business card stock, like Avery 8871 or whatever. Fill in the line at the bottom appropriately.

I was thinking that the back would be a good place to write down one's SF! name. Here's a PDF that Rabid Garfunkel whipped up that's pretty awesome, too, and it's double-sided!
http://www.bozos.com/songfight/sf_card_10-up.pdf
I'd still like a green light from the fightmasters before using these, though.

If the screened red on the backs come out pukey on your printers, let me know and I'll do 'em righter. This was a quick & dirty in the downtime @ work. (InDesign's transparency function is a bona fide abomination!)
Used an approximation of Pantone 1795 for the SF red (there wound up being less black in the hacked gif).
And hey JB, credit where credit's due

Man, there was a girl on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire today who didn't know what "imho" stood for. She thought it was "in my humble occupation". She had to waste her 'ask the audience' on a $500 question. Stupid girl.jb wrote: (you don't really need the "presented by" line on there, imo)
