Hey Spud,

Will it be possible for you to determine how many voters picked exactly 1 song to vote for, and how many voters picked more than one song to vote for?

Thanks for putting up the experiment, Spud. I think it's really interesting. I voted for two people.

I apologize in advance if there are any voting anomalies. The code is still being refined. However, I think it's worth a shot.

We'll bear with you. Or at least, I will. This is pretty exciting. The biggest shakeup since the first two-title fight! I'm quite curious to see how this affects the results.

Since I know someone will ask, here are some statistics about this week's voting experiment:

196 votes were registered. Some 9 votes were lost in the first few hours of debugging. Apologies to those of you who voted without listening to all the songs :)

There were 68 unique IP addresses registered, which is par for the course as far as actual unique voters go.

27 voters voted for only one song. Some percentage of those probably did not notice the change.

Only one person voted for all of the songs.

That sounds pretty successful. Is this format going to continue?

it's official: I suck.

I got as far as downloading them all, but forgot to listen. I really had every intention of voting this week. Sorry...

I voted for about half of them. It was kind of nice not having to go "dang! I wish I could vote for both of these" but much of the magic importance of a single vote was missing. Neat experiment, though.

i really like the new voting process. i know it's song FIGHT and not song LOVE, but it's still really great to be able to give the top 3 or 4 my vote. it doesn't do anything to my critiques, but it gives me the chance to show my appreciation to multiple artists in the same fight, whereas before all the runners up could get was a pat on the back in the forums.

besides, i'm just waiting for that perfect storm of a surprise winner, where the voting is all over the place and the unlikely candidate wins out. i'm a sucker for the underdog.

b/c i've always been an underdog. :-)

i was wondering if along with the number of votes on the results page, you could list the number of voters. i would be curious to know the number of people who vote in the fights. thanks, or not...depending.
