Mostly funny. But too bad about the standard animation tropes in the plot. I mean, how many times must we sit through the "rascal learns to care about something besides himself" story? B

I dug it. Cute movie to see with the family. Nothing really there but fluff, but it's entertaining fluff for the most part.

I'll give it a B-. I had hoped it would be a little funnier.

Did you stay for the Ben Folds redo of his Rockin' the Suburbs? Now there's a shotglass of bile aimed at the people who just paid to watch your movie. Kinda Von Triers-esque. I dug that.

Yeah, I listened to most of the end credits. I didn't know it was a remix though, and I dunno the lyrics really. I was kind of aggravated by the music, 'cause Ben was THOROUGHLY autotuned on every song. It hardly sounded like him at all. Ugh. I really can't stand to listen to autotuned vocals outside of electro-pop. I have this Guster album where the vox are so obviously autotuned, and it's just... blech. Sounds soulless, and makes me think the band is really lacking in confidence or something. Not good. I hope people get sick of the sound.

At least he doesn't lie...

From the original Rockin' the Suburbs:

"I take the checks and face the facts
That some producer with computers fixes all my shitty tracks
These days."

I really liked this one, though I thought the part where the squirrel drinks the caffeine was almost identical to the part in Hoodwinked where the squirrel partner of the wolf drinks the caffeine. I liked this one more than I thought I would.

I had never heard of Hoodwinked, but it was showing on the plane on the way to California and it was pretty enjoyable for the plane ride. I do like shows where different peoples' stories are followed, especially when they don't necessarily agree, like that one X-Files episode ... "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" - yeah, really weird, and brilliant, and not at all serious.
Anyway, Hoodwinked was fun but I wouldn't see it again.
