Independence Day or Mars Attacks?

Post by WeaselSlayer »

Which is the better alien invasion movie? And why is it that Americans are the only people who know what to do in the case of an alien invasion? And people from India can just pray at the Taj Mahal? Anyway, I'm not even sure what my answer is. Mars Attacks is hilarious and all, but Harry Connick Jr. is in ID4. Plus I love Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica Fox, and most of all: Randy Quaid.

After watching ID4 all the way through, Mars Attacks is far superior. It's just so twisted and hilarious, and campy in all the best ways. Independence Day is just sort of flashy.

Yup, Mars Attacks is flawed but enjoyable.

Independance Day is shit. Apart from the unintentional anal sex visual metaphor at the end.

That computer virus thing in ID was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in a movie. Not possible.

I'm pretty sure that was intentional as all hell, hence the line "You stuck something up my ass, now it's time for me to put something UUUUUP YOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRS!"

Just the presence of Jeff Goldblum gives my vote to Independence Day.
