The Devil Wears Prada

Post by raisedbywolves »

It's pretty fun and catty. Meryl Streep is actually kinda good, which I haven't been able to say for years and years. It feels long, though. And Anne Hathaway is a one-trick pony, and you kind of wish there were someone with a personality at the center of this thing. Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt do a decent job of filling in the charisma void though. B

Emily Blunt's schtick seemed a little forced to me, like her heart just wasn't in it. The catty, snide remarks didn't just fly off her lips like a Parker Posey.

I give it a B-. I wish they hadn't gone in so many screenwriter-on-autopilot ways, but from what I'm told that stuff came straight from the book.

A good kinda chick flick. It does feel rather long, and I wish the ending was more... rewarding? I wanted redemption, whereas at the end you're confused about the characters. It was good enough. C.
