So I actually finish my crappy cover around the week it was due. Was just too ashamed of submitting it, and though I could come up with a better rendition.
Learned how play the new version, just can’t get myself to sit down and recorded it.
So back to square one, it is.
I think I was going for an Okkerevil River sound on this… not even close.
I did speed it up 125% to give you a second chipmunk version.

So here’s my lame rendition of JBB’s – My Sister

chipmunk cover

I know your probably tire of people telling you this, but thanks for running songfight.. it means a lot to a lot of people.

No. You are too whiny. Your cover has been deleted from all time. Suckah.

I helped someone with one... but I don't know what happened to the project. Perhaps a little nudge will bring it into existence. Hint!

Workin' on it!

You might say I've bitten off more than I can chew, but actually I've just taken a bite that requires a few months of chewing.

Could we please have a sidefights archive page for this fight some day? That would be really awesome.

Hey everyone, I was completely unaware that JB & Ken have got the Official Total Request Coverfight page up and running now. However, from what I read in another thread, there may be some broken links as well as unfinished covers. Mine is one of the broken links and per Ken's advice, I'm going to PM JB the correct one.

As far as the unfinished songs, ya'll know who you are and what needs to be finished so get to it when you can folks.

Also, Spud has promised to link it on the front page in the "Sidefights Archive" once they have finished mixing on their entry.

I would love to see this Sidefight break the mold of less than 100% completion, so if you're still due to finish, please do your best to follow through

I just listened to my own cover of Starfinger's "Ken" for the first time in several months.. it is (in my obviously non-objective opinion) one of my best songfight entries ever.

What does that mean, that I like myself better doing other peoples' songs than doing my own?

I don't know if Ross likes it, but I do! Especially the rhodes'y breakdown. Cool! Vox could maybe be a touch louder but good stuff!

That's always a tough call with our voices, isn't it?

This time I have to agree. Just one db would be nice.

SPUD
THANKS!!!!

Yeah, I like it! I like what you did with the two vocalists and the "opera" piano in the middle contrasting with the "baseball" eveything else. That's how I hear it anyway.

Definitely better late that never! I'm looking forward to the remix with the vox a litlle louder if you do that.

Songfight! rules!
