Fuck off and take your Hot Topic grind with you. Scott Hull could sneeze and it would sound better than those shitstains.

I don't know what Skull Hull is... so they must not be as good as The Red Chord. Try to appreciate music even if it is popular... then people wont think you're such a snob. snob.

Hot Topic grind, are you kidding me? Sorry if it's not pig destroyer or as technical as cephalic carnage but calling them hot topic grind is just silly, have you even gave them a listen before?

I don't dislike it because it's popular (it's not) I dislike it because it's shit.

edit - ok, I'm sorry I called it Hot Topic grind, that was a dick move. But don't come on so strong especially when you're new to a community and haven't done the research to see if there's any interest in a genre that's fringe music by definition.

doing research to see if anyone listens to a certain genre before posting about it on a forum that is almost entirely based around music?

...and you wonder why you met resistance?

FFSmasher, welcome to Songfight. I'm Niveous. Your idea for a coverfight is an interesting one, but we are already in the midst of working on one and probably have another in the queue. Plus, the likelihood of finding a great deal of Songfighters into the Red Chord may be slim. If you have listened to the fight, you may see that we do not have a lot of metal here. We have some but not a lot.

Furthermore, you introduced yourselves to us with the phrase "for anyone that doesn't suck..." which is not going to make anyone want to run up and be a part of something you've thought up. Instead, it makes people go "Who the fuck is that guy" and then disregard your post. I don't think that's what you wanted.

In other words, you've started off on the wrong foot around here, FFSmasher. Why don't you introduce yourself in the introductions thread and maybe participate in some of the fights (if you have before then let us know who you are) before throwing out coverfight ideas.

Here's to a better start the second time around.

-Niv

PS- Don't sweat it so much if a band you like get shat on. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink.

I was just fucking around saying if you don't suck, but I was honestly curious to see if anyone would cover it.

I'm sure you were just joking but no one knows you yet and you can see how that could be misconstrued.

niveous, i liked how you unintentionally (i think anyways) quoted The Red Chord with the last line in your reply to FFSmasher.

nothing gets me interested in a band like knowing they popularize cliches as lyrics.

Wouldn't say they have popularized this particular phrase as much as they simply altered it and used it. It amazes me to see the lengths someone will go to trash a band or genre of music that probably have little or no knowledge of.
