I voted for yours first and the BeWells for honorable mention. I went through everyone's songs many many times to be sure that the deserving parties got my vote.

I felt like your cover was the most emotionally evocative, as well as being a unique take on the original (but the unique take served the song well instead of just being different for shock value.) You took a song I really didn't care for and make something great out of it.

I was curious - your cover was sparse but it seemed like there wasn't a single element needed or out of place. Was it that way all along, or did you build and take away elements to find the proper balance?

LoO -

*sshhhhhhh*

Just use your imagination. Listen to the original 'Tusk', Animal Collective's 'Leaf House', and Yeasayers' 2080 in rapid succession and you'll have it.

(Apparently without copious amounts of alcohol and my girlfriend involved the covers don't seem to happen.)

Congratulations Anti-M - though I share your flabbergastation at my position too!

Please see to it that my cash prize goes to the host of the next SF Live to buy a round of drinks at the bar.

All three of you are a bunch of sore winners!

Though I will say that Caravan Ray's idea of using the funds to sponsor an SFL event somehow sounds a lot more fun than giving money to the ACLU.

Hey - it would be different if the prize was in a currency that was actually worth something. But US dollars!?! Are you guys carrying those things around in wheelbarrows yet?

Spud wrote:I have probably not thanked Roymond for his cover (You've got to Fight...), because I am refraining from listening to it again until I have finished mine. I did listen to it once when it first came out, and it was amazing. I am planning on putting on frequent rotation ONCE MINE IS DONE. But not before. Self-imposed punishment.

Duly noted, my friend. No problem, but thanks for the mention. I know the feeling ;) And I hope you enjoy it as much once your punishment expires.

Good lord - I came third? Huzzah! I should not read the boards more often, obviously ... thanks everyone who voted for me.

FTR, I voted for the (senza valore?) cover of 'Walking The Distance' and then Fluxxum's 'Wild Wild Life'.

Good GOM everyone.

Yeah dude, Neurosis is the shit. And thanks for the tune, I'll give a proper listen within the hour!

edit - Love it. Thanks man. I don't know how you made this song uplifting, but you did, and without taking away its badassness. Awesome.
