Well, I am now one song behind on a song every 2 days pace, but I have posted my third demo.

Couldn't sleep, so I finished off the second song. It's the 'tear in your beer' track on the album.

I have written and recorded 9 songs towards an as yet untitled concept album about a disasterous relationship. It might be called '29'. Anyway, hopefully I might be able to mix it all to my satisfaction while I should be working and get it up by the end of the week.

Still didn't record anything substantial. A fraction of a song, half a song, and a cover which will not feature on the FAWM album.

But there is still hope. I guess.

Partially written a fourth song. If I can do one a day for the next three days then I'll be back on pace. I like that they call the recrdings "demos."

Checked out a book on baseball from the library today.

I realized to day that I mucked up some words in "The BAbe."

All I can write is choruses, but the verses aren't coming to me.
Just make your choruses the verses, then force yourself to write new choruses. I'm not kidding, I've had success with that.

Technically I started writing my Cute Boots entry at 11:30pm PST on January 31st, and recorded it the next morning, so I'm calling a re-recording of that my FAWN #1 song. That gives me...yep, 13.5 more songs to wrong -- er, I mean write.

I shall see what I can do.

I've got 6 Zinkline tunes written, so I think I'm doing well on that front.

My album needs a boost, so I'm asking for some collaboration help.

Niv's Guitar Experiment

I'm looking for help from several guitarists who have a few minutes of spare time. PM me and I'll give you the details.

I shall see what I can do.
Turns out that what I can do is spend over two hours writing a song and singing it for my wife here and there, only to have her (thankfully) realize that the signature chord progression/melody is almost a direct lift from Green Day's "When September Ends."

I had to do a song a day, roughly, to pull this off -- and I'm too tired and discouraged to start over tonight. Never mind!

4 songs posted. I'm now two behind, but have some work done on a bout three. If I can do one a day for four days I'll be back on pace.

I'm committed here.

Been keeping quiet here, so far I've knocked up 5 demo's of which I'm reasonably happy with a couple, though I've not posted anything as I'm not sure if I'll finish, although on the subject of "I've lost all inspiration/I can only write choruses" etc...

The best thing I've done so far is a track called the Canteen, and the lyrics are the complete transcript of a notice regarding the possible closure of the canteen at my work!

The Canteen

...so if you're stuck in a rut then look outside your normal source of inspiration, you never know what you'll find!

My fourth is up on my RPM page. It's called I'm Drinkin' Alone.

If anyone wants to help with this one, there's a drunken sing-along at the end that could use more voices. Give it a listen, and if you're inclined, record yourself singing along and I'll patch it in.

You can join if you want to but I'll still be drinkin' alone

I'm still looking for guitarists for my guitar experiment. If you have a couple of minutes of free time and a guitar, PM me.

I've got 8 songs written so far, none posted yet. I wanna see if I can't get a decent demo of each rather than my ultra-rough demos. Anyone wanna collab on a tune, PM me... I've got 8 to choose from. :)

I've got one song all the way recorded, but not mixed. I've got another one entirely recorded except for the vocals, but the lyrics are written. I've got another one entirely recorded except for the lyrics, and the lyrics are not yet written. I've got a full guitar part and some random other things recorded for a fourth song, but incomplete lyrics.

Three more are halfway written. Totalling 7. I'm way behind.

Anyone want to play drums on a song or two?

And of course, more substantive collaborations are always fun.

I have seven songs up, though one doesn't have any music for it yet. Turns out writing all your songs about one computer game is harder than it sounds.

I'm at 7 songs as well. Maybe this is like the 21* mile mark for a marathon runner. Keep going!

*21? I think that's it. Anyway, it's the point where the body starts to not want to... oh, you get it.
