Yes please.Paco Del Stinko wrote: I'd also be willing to try and learn the guitar to "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" if anyone wants to do the rest of it.
It is the guitar bits that are frightening me off a lot of Smiths songs. I am quite aware that as guitarist, I am no Johnny Marr (or Paco del Stinko)

Well, I'm cetainly no Johnny Marr either, and am pretty scared of those wonderful guitar parts as well. But everyone should just do the best that they can do and re-interpret liberally. I saw a couple of people on YouTube playing "Some Girls..." a year ago, one of whom sounded spot-on. If I practice it a million times I should be able to get it decent for you. (Oh please still be there, video) Sending a PM.Caravan Ray wrote:It is the guitar bits that are frightening me off a lot of Smiths songs. Ok, it's hard to pick just one... but I think we're going to narrow it down between "William it was Really Nothing", "Rubber Ring"and "Rusholm Ruffians". I'm trying not to add to the list, but there are so many good ones. Is anyone else having this dilemma?

I don't know much Smiths, but if somebody that I have worked with before wants to collab on something I'd probably be up to trying it.

I rescind my earlier song claim. I, like many others, can't seem to pick just one, so mark me as undecided for now. The Smiths are the Lay's Potato Chips of music.
Oh, if that due date isn't kosher, I propose an alternate - May 22, Morrissey's birthday.

Awesome.Lunkhead wrote:Erin would like to do "This Charming Man".
There's a lot of great songs left, any takers. It would be a shame to do a Smiths coverfight without "Panic" or "The Boy with the Thorn in his Side". And what about some Morrissey? Any takers on "Boy Racer"? "November Spawned A Monster"? "Tomorrow"? "Ouija board, Ouija board"???

I've never been much of a smith's fan, but might be willing to take a stab if someone can suggest a song that we be an interesting one for me to interpret - my depth of knowledge in their songs doesn't go especially deep.
