Rolf is a Nazi: A SongFight Tribute

Post by mkilly »

I had a dream, once. A dream that <a href="http://www.songfight.net/forums/viewtop ... ngFighters would unite to cover The Sound of Music in its entirety. Some SongFighters couldn't do it, though, so a bunch of other, cooler and more noble Fighters stepped up to the plate, and now it's going to go down. However! I am in search of a kind soul who will do justice to the song "Something Good." (A crappy website that has the lyrics is here.

Besides that, though, I'd like to invite anybody who wishes to cover a song from "The Sound of Music" to do so. They'll be put up on the page along with the officially-requisitioned tracklist, and I'll call 'em bonus tracks. It'll be brilliant.

To the people whom I have asked to do songs: do your songs! Don't forget, get them in by FEBRUARY 28, and then I'll make a page once they're all done.

I would LOVE to cover a song from Sound-Of-Music. Don't know if I'll have time so I guess I'll be a potential 'Bonus Track'.. but if I find time soon I'll try your missing track 'Something Good.'

Oh my god I would totaly be into this. I want "16 going on 17" so bad. That would be the song I would want to cover so bad. I even know a girl who would do the girls parts and I would do the guy parts. (Not to mension I'm 18 and she's 17)...

EDIT:

Darn. I read the old thread. You've already got artists layed out.

I dreamed of Hoblit singing "16 Going on 17" once. I posted to that effect in the ol' Monkey Affairs II thread.

also, for those of you who can't sing. PLEASE do not attempt Edelweiss. Thank you.

Feel free to butcher any other song. I certainly will.

I'm seriously thinking of having a go at Eidleweiss - regardless of what Hoblit thinks of my singing

(I also still can't get the idea of a Rolf Harris Coverfight out of my head. That would be totally awesome!)

Ha!

The Poms would know who he is - the Seppos probably don't (silly bastards don't know anything).

I'd love to hear you do Jake the Peg:

One cover's in, and it's an excellent ambient-y electronica thing. More to come, everybody's still invited to submit anything they like up until 11:59 pm February 28th!

I am up against the clock on this one. I may or may not have something ready in time.

Being on overnight shifts was enough to really, REALLY mess with my head for a while there. I am back to my normal shifts on monday though! Glee!

ROCK!
