The four I got are awesome as well and I've already decided on the one I'm doing, hands down.

Go abstract or like I usually do, go, er, dumb. Strip them to their core.Mark wrote:No, but I got 4 songs that are probably *way* beyond my capabilities to cover.

Agreed. I am psyched and I want a deadline to almost miss, too.
Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I think my problem is going to be waiting for the deadline to arrive - I recorded a pretty smokin' cover yesterday for a certain special songfighter.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
How's everyone doing on their GOM songs? I've got my music recorded and just need to do the vocals, which are the easy part of this song. I'll have to admit, I didn't know I had it in me. I put my heart into it for my giftee. Gift of Music rocks!

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I haven't even started mine yet - well, I know which one I'm doing, worked out how to play it, just waiting for inspiration to strike on how to arrange / approach it. I like my angles...

Hey, J$, and HInc... since the both of you are here... I was thinking it would be neat to enlist the Tyrrell Corporation for my GoM this year. You guys think you'd have time to collab? If not, it's cool.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I could probably help, but not to the extent that I did on NTUA (mixing and all that).

I'd be happy to spearhead this one. Details to follow, depending on just how soon my ass gets in gear.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I'm into it. My mixing board packed it in four weeks ago, but I got a loaner on it's way until mine gets fixed... so I'll make it in time... although some other projects I wanted to participate in have been stalled out. grrrrrrr. Oh well. Intentions on the internet should hold no credence until they are realities...
I liked the list of songs I got. Challenging... but fun.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I'm in the "haven't started but know what song I am doing" boat. My computer is being difficult, or it has finally realised how shocking i really am, and the audio in isn't working any more. Frustrating! I'm in the process of chasing up something to replace it.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I am starting mine this weekend. I am very psyched, this will be the first song I do in my new studio, and the song I chose is a neat/different genre for me to play with...

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
The Floating Head Effect is all back in town for our colleges' winter breaks. I know it's a little late, but I'll gladly pick up a song to do from someone who didn't get one, and I'll gladly present a list of songs. (By the way - I didn't get one last year.)
