talking heads cover fight - sub fight - psycho killer mixup

Post by Caravan Ray »

So...I mentioned doing a mega -band version of Psycho Killer - let's get some contributions.

Here is a basic track to follow - 120 bpm

https://soundcloud.com/caravanray/psycho

here is another version with no bass:

https://soundcloud.com/caravanray/psycho2

(the above 2 are guides only - not meant for the final mix)

And

here is an acoustic guitar track:

https://soundcloud.com/caravanray/gtr-psycho

and here is another acoustic guitar track:

https://soundcloud.com/caravanray/gtr2-psycho

Lets get some vocal tracks coming
and some proper guitar tracks

...and a flugel horn. Or something

I grabbed your reference tracks after you posted this thread. But the acoustic guitar tracks don't have a download tab. Maybe you didn't make them downloadable? I'm trying hard to be involved with this but I just don't have time for musicing at the moment. I should have time tomorrow if I don't tile my guest bathroom, lol.
I like your tracks, though. They sound pretty good as is. :)

Senor caravan
Should we post tracks to soundcloud or did you have another method in mind?
Can you post the drum and bass track as one track with the vocal scratch track as another so When recording I can mute the vocal scratch?

I have downloaded the basic file and have been jamming with it, pretty fun. I don't have anything worth sharing yet ... but maybe today.

Sorry - keep forgetting that bit.

They are downloadable now

Is that a euphemism I am not familiar with?

I very rarely have anything in mind.

Post them any way you know how

No. Not really. You can just add any old drum beat at 120bpm and use one of my guitar tracks - if you want something without vox

Oh I didn't realise there was a sub-thread. Doh.

A bass part played by my good self and three seperated drum tracks played by the gooder Mr Andy Balham can be downloaded from http://www.johnnycashpoint.com/CR/ Have at 'em, fine soldiers of fortune.

Talking Heads or Walking Dead - you decide :)

Hmmm...I seem to be having a lot of trouble with this soundcloud thing.

Maybe I didn't click "save" last time...anyway - they should be (I hope) downloadable now
