What incredible song choices, particularly these two (in my own opinion, of course). I'm looking forward to hearing what comes of all this!

Link me up, dude! :D
Oh man, I have been hunting for the original files (which I know I have somewhere) for the last day or so, since I saw this post. I was / am very proud of it, but I could probably mix it better today (what is it, *9* years later? Ouch.) And I definitely don't have the drone track that's central to it. Here's a deal - put one more song in your list (in case I get you in the draw) and I will either find those tracks and mix them to my satisfaction, or if I can't find them, I'll re-record it alongside whichever song / musician I receive? I f**ing luv that song ...

I very nearly picked that one due to Joe Jackson's cover.

I want someone to cover the full tabbed spaghetti western version. :P

That's an inspired choice. If I recorded that I'd probably wanna throw in Super Chicken as well.

At my old job we briefly had this blonde knockout working in our front office. I would talk to her in that voice and call her "Marigold." She thought I was batshit crazy.

Clan of Xymox - "A Day"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiJ3KU0bme0

Hey John. You haven't competed in a Songfight or Nur Ein yet. I've gotta hesitate on giving you an assignment or giving out your assignment. You've gotta be an songfighter first to participate in the Songfight Secret Santa. Get a song into the main competition and then we'll get you set up for GOM.

I know, right!? When I first heard it about a year ago I couldn't believe it. I had given up on the possibility for music to rock like this ever again. Then I heard J.Roddy and it was a spiritual moment.
....I my be over exaggerating, but not by much. ;)

Does this mean your cover will only go for 10 seconds?
