Just a reminder, anyone doing this needs to have their songs in by Monday at some time. I'm heading out of town for the week to work, and will put the fight up from the comfort of a shitty hotel room in ButtCrack, Nowhere. I'll give little confirmation replies to say I got your song. (Great! More work!) Also, I'm slightly altering the ID3 and naming convention of all songs; bandname_aostuiowiwcjutww*.mp3, and use "Ramonesfight!" for the album title. I want this collection of songs to be a cohesive album, so I'm going to take a day or so to arrange them in the best way (IMHO, of course). Also, a question for Albatross and J$: the songs you posted in this thread can be included?

*abbreviation of song title unless it's one word, in which case just use the whole word

The Kraken Lives doing Beat on the Brat is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. Pure gold.

They're all good and fun. Even the moody ones. Good job, all!

My favorites are the Sven tracks, especially I can't give you Anything. It's got the spirit of the Ramones, it rocks, and it's still your own.
They are all good! That was a fun listen!

Thanks so much! That's mighty nice! You should have seen the grin on Django's face this morning when I read that to him.
I'm also loving the Canadians and Paco, they're all gems!

:o Wow, thanks!

Okay, I'm going to old-school review these songs in real-time.

The Canadians "Blitzkrieg Bop"
Neat idea, and a true "tribute" in the most literal sense of the word. I'm not a fan of samples, but it works like mad in this. Short and sweet, like most of the Ramones' catalog.

The Kraken Lives "Beat on the Brat"
OMFG this is *adorable* That kid has rock star potential! Please tell me you're including this in your set list (with the little tyke singing it, of course)

Paco del Stinko "I Wanna Be Sedated"
Like Randy Newman doing a cover of The Cure doing a cover of the Ramones :) Swerves into 1970s Elvis-Country-AM Radio territory in places.

Sven Mullet "I Can't Give You Anything"
It's a tie between this and the other song I did for favorite Ramones song ever. I like to perform this song at weddings. It has an important message. I'm kidding, I don't perform at weddings. But if I did!

Transatlantic Fight Club "53rd & 3rd"
Reminds me a bit of Shudder to Think. Or Terrence Trent D'Arby. It is certainly a weird take on the song :)

Caravan Ray "The KKK Took My Baby Away"
Somber, minor key Ramones? I say yes!

Roktot "Questioningly"
a) The anecdote you included with your email was pretty amazing b) this is a good, Dylanesque cover of a song I don't care for... I was never a fan of Joey's "tearjerker" songs. (Johnny didn't like them either)

Johnny Cashpoint "Beat on the Brat"
Weird, grumbly tummy noises in the background of an electro-industrial-gay-disco cover song and I ask you; what is there to *not* like?!

Sven Mullet "You Should Never Have Opened That Door"
Either my favorite or second favorite Ramones song. I can't decide. Could have done it a bit faster I guess, but I'm happy how it turned out.)

Albatross "Pet Sematary"
"onetwothreefour" sounded just like Dee Dee! Straight-forward cover done very well. (I'm actually partial to straight covers over re-interpretations)

Ukuladyboys "Sheener is a Punk Rocker"
See what I did there? ;) I am impressed that you could make ukuleles sound like that. Nice album closer.

Actually, this is somewhat of a reinterpretation - of what the song might have sounded like if it were recorded 11 or 12 years earlier. Hence, the addition of the Dee Dee count-off, the single-note guitar solo, etc.

The original song, recorded in 1989, doesn’t really sound like that:

Truth be known...most times, John didn't like playing any songs ... but, playing was better than actually working...
His goal was to make a little money and quit !!!

Yeah, I got that, but IMHO, "re-interpretation" would mean like what Caravan Ray or Paco del Stinko did with theirs. I still like them, but I prefer keeping the basic structure/chords/melody/arrangement the same as the original.
