FAWM 2015

Post by Niveous »

It's almost February. Who is taking on the 14 songs in 28 days challenge. I'm going to attempt it this year.

I did it last year...wrote lyrics only, but had a great time. Definitely plan to do it again this year, but will probably record a simple version of each song.

I never did it before, but I signed up for the FAWM website last week to get ready for the challenge in February. I'm planning on doing a very library-type album; just music, no lyrics. Just pieces of music, like you'd hear in movie background.

I have never managed to actually write or record a single full song for FAWM, so I think I know when it's time to give up.

I find myself happily anxious for FAWM to start. I'm going all experimental and I can't wait to see where it takes me.

I'm giving some serious consideration to doing RPM again this year. Did it once before (never did FAWN). I think RPM is more interesting to me at the moment only because you're allowed to make use of previously unrecorded material. I have a lot of snippets and partly written songs I'd like to try to finish and I'm hoping RPM will give me the push needed to turn them into something. Does anyone else do RPM?

My record for FAWM is 2. Will it be broken? About as likely to happen as my breaking my overall songwriting drought of 4 years(or however long it's been)
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

Since I enjoy writing improvizational music that sounds like a cross between a looping album and a library music album licensed for use as production music, I should be able to complete the challenge. I spent a half an hour yesterday checking out the newly updated FAWM website and logging into the account I set up before. I didn't do it last year, I just set up an account in December to get ready for February. So wish me luck! Maybe when it's done, I can use the CreateSpace music features.

Actually I did a song about Backyard Wrestling in a collab with Signboy for the Ring Them Bells fight.

It's quite good, and I'm almost positive it was the last song I ever did for SF. So yeah, 4+ years.

Should there be a Songfight thread in the FAWM forum?

So how's everyone doing so far? Slow going for me. I've started several song, but I don't have any completely written yet. It's still early I guess, but I'm hoping to involve other people, so I feel like I should really be tracking by next week...

I was in lyric mode Sunday, so that helped a lot. I might go back and do demos for them later.
