Re: Covering random songs from the archive
It's never too late! This is just an open ended thing I thought of as something that might be fun for folks to do when they're feeling like making a cover. If you want to give it a try, here's the first random track that came up for you:

If you're curious about finding more random songs, you can hit this link:
http://sfjukebox.org/songs?random
i like to select the random songs for folks though to keep track of skips etc. (There are some loose "rules" in the first post of the thread.)

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
Paco is now one step away from claiming the top spot thanks to his latest cover, "So Weird" by There's Something Wrong With the G-Diffuser. Apparently that band name is a reference to the old video game Starfox. Anyway, good work Paco, and enjoy this cover of a so that is, as advertised, so weird.

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
Thanks, Lunk. I had to guess at a couple of the lyrics, but think that I made them fit. For that song, oh, they fit! I'll post in a day or two.
Thanks for your hard work Lunk, I appreciate the help. Meanwhile, you can toss me another when you have time. I should be able to get to it sooner. I hope.

That's cool. Hey, I just noticed that Paco got a KA song to cover - looking forward to that!

Here's Paco's cover of KA's "Dry Spell", it's great!

That puts Paco at the top of the leaderboard.
Let me know if you'd like a new assignment, Paco.

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
Thank you, Paco! Hey, I recognize the song! One of those where I knew I was stretching the title further than I probably should have. I like the harmonies, everything. Like the way it slows down at the end, like the last 30 seconds of the song were a speed trap
I'm posting a couple corrections to the lyrics. Sorry, I usually try to get the lyrics when I submit a song, guess I missed that one.

KA - Im glad you like it, that makes me feel good. Fun tune, sorry I mangled some lyrics. Think I made up a new word there. Whatever it is.
Lunk - Thanks, as always, for your hard work. I do appreciate it. And yeah, I'll take another. I was thinking that if one of my own ever comes up, I'd take it. In some ways that would be a bigger challenge, I think. Thanks again!

Ha, Paco plays Paco, that could be very cool. But this time you got this frankly not very inspiring to me bit:

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
So on 11pm PST on 9/10 (i.e. 2am EST on 9/11) Paco got assigned a 'random song' about 9/11?
Is that a legit wild coincidence, or was your thumb on the scale for this one?
