No worries. Hit me up with another; it'll probably take me as long as the last cover but I'll get there in the end ...Lunkhead wrote:Ah, well the Chumpy bonus is for adding the original song's lyrics to the Lyric Archive section of the boards, which in this case would mean adding a new thread there for that old fight and posting the original's there.j$ wrote:Oh, sorry, I forgot all about the chumpy bonus! Re: Covering random songs from the archive
oof. that's amazing but without access to the old board (assuming lyric was posted there) i don't see how i can. I don't want to take a skip but i don't just want to make some noise and call it cover ... god bless Polish Rhino! i'll be back some time in 2018 ...

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
Wow, yeah. I wasn't able to listen to it when I posted that so I had no idea. That is intense! I would have to guess at a lot of the lyrics. Or it might be fun to try to track them down and see if they can provide them...? Maybe this is them on Facebook?
https://www.facebook.com/polishrhino
I didn't know them and I don't remember them from those fights though so I'm not sure.
Let me know if you change your mind about using a skip.

ughhh, soo close I got excited there for a moment that JB might cover the Melvin song "I'm Warning You". THAT would be an awesome pairing!
The one by the rules sounds like it might be fun too.

I listened to this every day last week, but it doesn't do anything to me. Plus... indeed I got a lot other things on my plate right now and I don't have my recording stuff installed.Lunkhead wrote:OK tuuur, here you go:

Sounds to me like a decent guy/guitar song that could benefit a lot from a cover. Good luck!
Gotta pass, sorry...

Is there any kind of bonus if you cover a song that someone else skips?
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

Re: Covering random songs from the archive
Here's my Polish Rhino "cover". Managed to isolate the lyric enough to get about 95% of what was being said. Filled in the gaps on the rest and changed / updated it (complaining about Bush in 2004 seemed too good a chance to take a potshot at Trump in 2015). Song is built out of samples from the original, over which I sprinkled that ol' Cashpoint stale magic. No chumpy bonus because I'm not creating a new/old thread for a lyric that is only a liberal swing at the original. Hopefully I've captured the spirit. Hit me up another time.

The cold mystique of a father who is sexual
Inside the minds of liberals, you will see a monster who is
the fairytale of "reasonable people"

So when Trump wins in the year of our lord 2016, we'll take it
Take it
Goodbye monster, goodbye monster I hope I never see you again x2

It's a bit bassy in the mix but bear with it ... j$ tackles The Thomas Jeffersons' 'Credible Threat' while he waits for Fallout IV to touchdown ...

Words already exist in the relevant lyric thread,
Hit me up another, if it's not too much trouble.
