Amp'd: A Father's Backstage Pass

Post by jb »

Book written by the father of one of the guys in the band Breaking Benjamin. Yeah, I know I know, but it's still interesting, especially to us proto-popstars on Song Fight.

He basically chronicles what happens from the time his son's first band Strangers With Candy wins the MTV "Best Cover Band in the World" competition through the demise (sort of) of that band and his son's joining Breaking Benjamin and their struggle to become popular.

A tangentially interesting facet to the story (and probably why it was on a feature shelf at my local Borders) is that all those guys are from the Selinsgrove, PA area.

book could be interesting. have to wonder how parents feel when their kids start on these paths.
