I completely and wholeheartedly endorse the reading of this book, an excellent novel by Mr. Glen David Gold.

His first. I didn't like it, really. It was packaged really nice, set in with genuine full-color old-tyme magic show posters. That was neat. It's a pretty book. And the writing is fun and vivid at times, but I thought it was too story-booky. Too happy-ending fairy-talish. Just another man's opinion. Discuss.

Holy cow I couldn't disagree with you more. It is all the things you say it is, and that's why I loved it.

It sounds like you would enjoy Lucky Wander Boy.

I figured you'd say something like that. Opinions.

Anyway, I read your review of Lucky Wander Boy, and found it sharp and insightful, and it successfully deterred me from the book. So don't pull that jab.

Anyone else have anything to add to this discussion?

not really. i read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies, but none that are new and hip, so i really feel lost during most discussions of this type.

I'm with JB - I loved this book. Definately one of the most enjoyable novels I've read for quite a while.
