The Lost Room - scifi miniseries

Post by mico saudad »

The part of me that is always amazed at human ingenuity was really lit up by this show.

The story: Over a hundred 'objects' were created on May 4th, 1961 (no one knows why or how) each possessing bizarre and supernatural powers. For example, there is a clock that can sublimate brass, and a bus pass that when touched transports a person to a place just outside Gallup, NM.

I mean, take a look at this w-i-k-ipedia page carefully outlining fake objects presented in a 6 hour miniseries.

Imagine if these objects were real. How long would it take someone somewhere to figure out that the clock sublimates brass? And objects combine to create new effects.

Overall there were a huge number of gaps and gaping holes in the plot and some (to me) disappointing plot choices, but the idea is still spectacular and it lights up my own imagination about what the world would be like.

Check it out if you haven't.
