Yo. Mostly Newbie.

Post by Geech »

Hi, song warriors. I’m Geech. I’ve played and contributed on a handful of Berkeley Social Scene tracks - a couple from back in the day whose titles I don’t recall and more recently A Doom With a View, Walk Steady, Dream Crusher and now, Is This Real Life. I am primarily a guitar player and singer, I suppose, but for BSS I have mostly played other things, including drums and keys.

I have been in many bands over the years and generally looked from afar at this Song Fight thing. The whole idea of it was off-putting me. “Here’s a title - give me a well-recorded, completed song in a week!” It just seemed forced. Collaborating with BSS more these past weeks, I am beginning to appreciate the nature of these sorts of constraints. And I am just trying to be cool about it.

With Lunkhead Sam’s engineering help, this week I am contributing my own track. I think it’s pretty good, but I guess we’ll see what you all, the scrutinizing SF public, has to say.
