Ha! This is a pretty funny poll. Even eric was roused from his manic-depressive daysleep to cast a vote. Powerful stuff! But seriously, because of this poll, I finally just listened to The Melvins myself, and based on the track "Night Goat", I would say I'm better. But keep voting, people!

"The Melvins are an American punk rock/heavy metal band. The Melvins' music is influenced by Black Flag's My War era punk and Black Sabbath-style metal, but their idiosyncratic approach, bizarre sense of humor, and experimentation make neat categorization difficult. The Melvins often favor rather slow tempo, and their sludgey sound was a strong influence on grunge music, especially Nirvana and many other bands from Seattle. While never finding and probably never even seeking great mainstream success, The Melvins maintain an impressive schedule of new albums and tours, including two releases with former Dead Kennedys front man Jello Biafra, and have a dedicated cult following."

The Melvins have always been more content actively trying to destroy an increasingly stagnating musice scene rather than bathe in it.

Quoted for truth. The Melvins are definitely in my top 10.
