Wish I had a good answer Glennny. I'm a born and raised New York City guy. I've got subways down pat. Cars not so much.

I'm guessing that parking wont be a challenge Saturday near Mise-En Place. Sunday (Sidewalk) however is not a good parking locale. Whereas the trendy summer time Hampton-crowd is out of town, this does not apply to the lower east side.

That said, a Sunday evening shouldn't take > 30 minutes to find a spot ( * this is purely guesswork and not an estimate nor legal advise).

Roymond happily accepts the 7:00 slot and requires some rehearsal time on Saturday, but needs to confirm with co-conspirator.

Sorry guys, I can't make it after all. Have fun! And if there's a stream, I'll watch from home!

I'll tune in too if you can get a live stream going. I think Hangouts "On Air" is still the best way to get that working, from my experience. You may have to dig in to the settings to tell it to use decent quality audio, I think that was an issue we ran into with the live stream from Saturday night in Portland. Also please try to make sure you configure it so that stream gets saved so folks can replay it later.

Anybody who wants to volunteer to try to set up a live stream, it's probably a good idea to test out the setup in advance once or twice.

I tried using Periscope last year for night 1 and it didn't go well. I think it stopped the broadcast every time my phone went to sleep. So if somebody plans to use Periscope you may want to have a dedicated device for it and get it all set up so that it won't accidentally terminate the broadcast. Also at that time Periscope videos were not saved by default, and even if you did set them to be saved they were only saved for 24 hours. I think now they are saved by default, but still only for 24 hours. So Periscope isn't a great choice if you want to have a long term archived video.

I don't know much about Facebook live streaming, but if somebody had time to investigate that, that could be another way to go. You'd just want to make sure that the stream was public and did not require being logged in to Facebook.

I'm not sure how much of this is a pun

Suffice to say. I would love to be in NYC "setting my bar high" this week.

Sweet, I do plan on turning up, since I landed in the wee hours of this morning and am still hanging out at JFK expanding my life experience.
In related news, I heard a whisper about a muso haunt/rehearsal space/venue where some musos actually stay ... do you know anything about that?
Have you heard of a band called Hot Curl? Might check them out tonight if I've got my dates right. Otherwise, terminal 1 has quite grown on me compared with T4 ...

I'll be booking it from Lincoln Center (go figure) so not sure I'll get there by 10, but hopefully I'll hear some of it.

Is there a list yet for saturday? Sorry if I missed it already posted. I'll play between 1 and 3 songs, depending on how my cram session goes and how forgiving we all are of people like me who are last year's weekend warriors .. When can we load in?

Prisoner is asking for the exact drum configuration at Sidewalk.
You guys have the details?
Thanks!

Sidewalk backline info:

– Full PA with 3 stage monitors
– Direct Input Boxes (4), Microphones (5 SM58s, 2 SM57s, 1 Sennheiser 609)
– Yamaha Upright Piano
– Ludwig Drum Kit: 1 kick drum, 1 floor tom, 1 rack tom, 1 snare drum
– Drum Hardware: 1 snare stand, 3 cymbal stands, 1 high hat stand (DW5000), 1 kick pedal, 1 drum throne
– Fender Blues Jr Guitar Amp
– Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Guitar Amp
– Mark Bass Combo Amp

Drummers will need to bring own cymbals and HH clutch. Our hi hat stand is a DW5000, which is a bit thicker than other stands, so make sure your clutch will fit! Snare and kick pedal recommended. For practical reasons, BANDS MUST USE OUR DRUM KIT unless we’ve agreed to alternate arrangements.

What's happening on Saturday is the live fight "Good Luck Charm" and then the rest of the night, we're doing like an open mic night. Less structured than Sunday.

Wait, you're doing the live fight as the first thing on the first night? How will everybody get drunk enough to perform the songs they wrote during everybody else's sets that way ... ?!?! :P

I've got a drum set sitting in a closet for SF shows. I don't know drums at all. You tell me what we need and what it looks like and I'll grab it.

Hey everyone,

I hope your travels into town have been going well. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions or just to say "Hey, I made it into NYC".

Please promote the Sunday show on your social media. Sidewalk has been pretty awesome. Let's get them some audience. Plus, let's get a bunch of folks to come see an awesome night of 11 bands. (Mise is a smaller venue so it's easier to fill but you can show it some love too)

I haven't heard from Jon of the Howling Monkeys in a few days and that worries me. But I'm sticking with 11 for the moment.

Here's what I think the night's lineup will be like:

6:00 Cavedwellers
6:30 The Howling Monkeys
7:00 Roymond
7:30 Pepper Jane
8:00 Sockpuppet
8:30 Kenka
9:00 Holly Furlone
9:30 Jim Tyrrell
10:00 Niveous
10:30 Ben Krieger
11:00 Menage A Garage

How does that sound?

Oh, and if anyone wants to throw me a couple of bucks to help with show costs, that would be appreciated.
