SFL! 2009 R&R Media (pictures, video, audio, streams, etc.)

Post by Lunkhead »

A thread for posting media from the event. I'm going to try to get a live stream going tonight on ustream.tv.

OK, maybe this will work, maybe not, who knows? I think it may actually sort of work tonight (though hopefully the audio won't be overblown and distorted) but tomorrow we'll be in a different part of the cafe where the wi-fi doesn't really work.

I think it may have been Sockpuppet at that time. Anyway, that's all for tonight. We had a blast. Tune in again tomorrow, and hopefully we'll have something to use for the audio for the stream other than my laptop's built-in microphone, so y'all can listen as well as watch.

it was pretty cool, despite the flaws with the sound. i saw ken do "indie rock bottom" and "shreds" with what looked to be a drunken JB and erin on backup vox, and i later saw some merisan song.

and i saw alot of ass shots in the warmups. whose ass i'm not sure. collective ass. i think people forget we're watching. :)

I'm the dude with long black hair and a beard. I was wearing a green t-shirt and dark blue jeans. I played keyboards for Naked Philosophy, Roymond, and Sockpuppet, but for my own set, I only played guitar and mandolin.

So if I was on keys when you were watching, it was probably fluffy's set.

Thanks to those who tuned in. I'm very bummed that I forgot to hit "record" at the beginning of the night, and we didn't get the earlier sets like Ken's and JB's saved. :( I suck. I'm glad some folks got to tune in, though, and see some of the awesomeness. The sound actually wasn't as bad as I thought. I thought it would just be total noise the whole time completely obscuring the music. It does clip frequently, but you can hear some of what's going on. Today should be better as we're going to try to hook up an audio interface and stereo mic that Ken brought.

Here's a link to the "channel" where you can watch the stuff I did record:

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/song-fight-live-2009

We actually finished well ahead of schedule last night, so Glenn opened the mic up for anybody who wanted to do any SF! covers or other SF! songs. Some really good stuff happens in that last section, including "Octothorpe Does Not Dance", JB's "Fire Bomb", some good FBF covers, and an impromptu Marcus Kellis cover of "Fuzzy Logic" by 15-16puzzle.
