Media from Song Fight Live: Beer and Coffee

Post by JonPorobil »

Hey everyone!

There will be better video from other people later, but I figured I'd post what I have as soon as possible. The audio was so good for Saturday's show that I was able to get watchable (and listenable) video files from my cell phone. I grabbed at least one song from each band of the evening (except for Klownhole, who were still too loud for my phone), and I'm letting them batch-upload to Youtube tonight.

One of them has already finished uploading: Merisan's "Rattlesnake." http://youtu.be/fa3LgE3t0-Q

Ken's "Indie Rock Bottom" is still in progress, but when it's done, it'll go up at this URL: http://youtu.be/WmpWgHn0dH0

BSS's "It Always Gets Better" is still in progress, but when it's done, it'll go up at this URL: http://youtu.be/X_woQlniAZM

The rest I'll post when they're done.

I also took a buttload of photos. Those are all on Google+, and are visible to anyone (you don't even need a Google+ account) at the following addresses:

How could you possibly get listenable audio from the Octothorpe set?

It's listenable from a technical standpoint. From an aesthetic standpoint, the viewers should feel free to make their own judgments.

I took a bunch of photos early Friday night but then kind of forgot to keep going with that stuff. Mostly I did artsy-fartsy long-exposure bullshit though.

I have the whole thing , except Frankies set (damn it)
I would like everyone's set list.
They'll start trickling up to You Tube soon.
I'm sure Glenn Case would like set lists too.

Good times everyone!
Nice to see you all!

I filmed video of the entire first night, and as much of the second night as I could before the camera battery ran out.

I did charge the battery on night #2 so I could the entire live fight.

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

It was just a cherry-picked image from a rapid-fire series of photos taken during your set. Continuous advance mode is fun.

So is this available anywhere? I would really like a recording of mine so I can decide whether to submit, or to try to rerecording it quickly tonight, or whatever. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Thanks!

seriously all I can remember from the live fight is thinking "oh dear godwhat have i done" whilst walking from the stage, not remembering quite what i sang or played really, and speaking vaguely to Sam about a carafe-d drink. Because it looked large and celebratory. also trying to solicit votes by doing a flex-y dance. there was drinking, that night.

Seriously, though, the due date is tomorrow. Am I completely missing some important thread or series of PMs or something?

I think you are missing that you should open up your DAW and get to work. :)

Was audio or video of the live fight posted? Did I miss the place where I can grab mine? Because as much as I meant to record it at home, I also meant to go out for dinner and drink bourbon which, strictly speaking, isn't an excuse just a reality.

Hey everyone!

Videos are trickling up, I get 3 or 4 a day.

Those who gave a set list have priority. They will eventually all get up there.

I haven't done the proper tagging and titling yet. But if you want to sift through, look for glenartrock on youtube.
