Oh, cool. Sam, are you confirmed? I still have you on the "Maybe" list. Is Erin coming too?

Just rereading through all this stuff, realized I didn't reply, in case it's not already obvious, Erin and I are confirmed. We'll be doing a Merisan set. I may try to enlist a couple folks to back us up on a song or two.

Yes, someone I'm playing keys for confirmed that you're also in their band, so I took the liberty of moving you from "Maybe" to "Confirmed." Can't wait to see you guys!

Friends, we're just over a month out and I still don't have a poster. Does anyone know someone with some artistic chops who might step up to the plate?

I've got a friend working on a poster, and he's supposed to have it ready tomorrow. I'll show you guys as soon as it's ready.

In the meantime... Here's a tenative schedule! I've allotted 30 minutes for each act. This 30 minutes includes all the time for performance plus setup and breakdown times. Frankie, JB, and ADD asked for a little extra time, so they get 40 minutes each. There's tons of time in case people run over. Marcus Kellis, are you sure you don't want to play a set?

Everyone, take a look at it and let me know whether this works for you, or if you have any questions.

(EDIT: On hold for rewrite)

Looking back through my notes, I only see the request for the three of you to all play consecutively on the same night, but if you like I can swap things around so you play on Saturday instead. Bear with me for like 30 minutes while I go back to the drawing board...

In light of the above, I'm just going to rework the whole schedule from the ground up again. Would anyone like to volunteer to go first on either night, so I don't wind up putting someone in the opening slot who really doesn't want it?

Okay, new schedule. This time, Naked Philosophy goes first on Friday. Mike, if you'd like to not go first, let me know and we'll try to find someone to switch with you.

The Saturday schedule now set up so that Manhattan Glutton leads off the evening, followed by a joint set by Frank, John, and Jeff, in that order, leaving time for one more performer (Future Boy), then two hours for the live fight. Two hours seemed about right, assuming that all attendees enter the live fight, and that each song takes 5-10 minutes to set up, perform, then break down. That leaves us with plenty of time to handle all those arrangements and to cast the vote, so we won't feel rushed at all if everything goes according to plan.

As always, feel free to let me know if you have any requests or concerns about this schedule.

Friday, August 9
7:00-8:00 - Setup/Sound check
8:00-8:05 - Intro
8:05-8:35 - Naked Philosophy
8:35-9:05 - Sober
9:05-9:35 - Roymond
9:35-10:05 - Jon Eric
10:05-10:35 - Merisan
10:35-11:05 - Niveous
11:05-11:35 - DJ Ranger Den
12:05-12:35 - WreckdoM

Saturday, August 10
7:00-8:00 - Setup/Sound check
8:00-8:05 - Intro
8:05-8:35 - Manhattan Glutton
8:35-9:05 - Frankie Big Face
9:05-9:35 - John Benjamin Band
9:35-10:05 - ADD
10:05-10:35 - Future Boy

Thanks for pointing that out, Sam. I know MG was on the original draft of the schedule, but I must have accidentally cut him out when I was shuffling people around. Give me a little bit to fix it; I'm still negotiating with some of the other performers.

Yes, playing Saturday is great for me!

I also asked a friend of mine to do a poster but have done a shitty job following up so I don't think she's started yet. I told her I'd check on the forums first to make sure that hadn't been worked out. So, either I can tell her not to bother, or we could potentially have two different posters to use. What do you think Jon? If you'd like me to have her go ahead, could you send me all the info you'd like to see incorporated? I'll pass it on to her.

I should totally headline Friday night, because I'm awesome. And I been fightin' for yer freedoms for the last four goddamn years. And because I'm really drunk right now.

On a serious note: Do we have any way of contacting Brother Machine? He's one of the best Songfighters of all time imo, and he kicked ass last time SFL was in Austin. Just a thought.

My friend should be done this evening. If your friend hasn't started yet, I'd go back and tell her never mind. If she has already made some headway, then having two posters certainly wouldn't hurt anything. :-)

I shot him a couple of e-mails and a Facebook message, and was met with radio silence. I agree it would be a real shame if Seth couldn't even put in an appearance. Maybe if someone else tried to contact him? I don't know.

Okay, we've got a poster, but the artist sent it to me in .pdf form, so I can't yet upload it to the forum. Rest assured, I've printed out copies and I'll be papering the venue and various other spots around town with them.

Also, I've modified the schedule again. With permission from Frank and John, I've shortened their sets (and Jeff's) down to the same length as everyone else. I've also re-added Manhattan Glutton, who I completely left off the last version of the schedule by mistake. He now kicks off the Saturday show.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

JPG will kill it (anything with text should not be JPG'd...generally)! PNG is better for posting here. Send it to me and I'll link the PDF (best for printing) from a site.

Fair enough; I don't think I have a version of Acrobat that can convert from .pdf to .jpg or .png anyway. So, roymond, check your e-mail.

Someone pointed out to me that the time is missing from the poster, and then I also noticed that the URL to http://songfight.org/ is missing, so I've gone back to the artist to get him to add those details.
