In all likelyhood, I will be acoustic and alone, unless I somehow find a way to get organized enough to convince folks to play with me!

I'm a little confused. In the first post of this thread it says we have the night 2 venue from 9pm-12am:
anti-m wrote:Saturday, August 15th
Mississippi Pizza
3552 N Mississippi Ave, Portland, OR 97227

9:00pm - 12:00am
Venue is 21 and over!

... but the slots for that night in the post in the fifth page start at 9:30?
anti-m wrote:Saturday
9:30 -- 9:45
9:50 -- 10:05
10:10 -- 10:25
10:30 -- 10:45
10:50 -- 11:05
11:10 -- 11:25
Live Fight -- 11:30-12:00
Which one is correct?

Also, do we have any idea of what our "load in" times are for the venues? It usually takes a while to be ready to go, like 30-45 minutes, so ideally we can load in at least that long before the start times of the first performances.

Is Spud coming? Should I plan for an # set?
I think he's still undecided but leaning towards yes on coming, but I don't know if we're planning on a # set, since we still are sans Maddog. I definitely can't speak for him though.

Spud is coming, bringing Crash. Mad Dog may surprise us. However, there will be no Octothorpe set, since we will not have time to put one together. I WOULD love to play a couple of Spud Songs for you, however, on solo piano, if there is a suitable keyboard, and I would play bass for fluffy (or anyone, for that matter) if asked. Digi-horn playing available, too, in case anyone needs some fake woodwinds or horns.

Oh and to answer the actual question that was asked, my lineup is either:

1) IDEAL SITUATION
Me on guitar and vocals
JB on cello
Damien or Denise on keys
Spud on electric horn
Someone awesome on drums

2) PRAGMATIC SITUATION
Me on guitar and vocals
Someone decent and/or Spud on bass
Someone awesome on drums

3) WHAT WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN
Me on guitar and vocals
Someone to stick a kazoo in my mouth at appropriate times

We don't need any preparation or Mad Dog for More Science, Skyline, or Don't Dance.

p++ may wind up being Rabid Garfunkel (if Albatross can't make it), but aside from that... it's okay with me. (As is any other slot should the need arise; I'm easy.)

If we're going to do Socktothorpe as an adjacency set then it might make more sense to reverse the order, so my wrists can be good for the songs they need to be good for.

Or we can just have a slightly-longer single "Socktothorpe" set.

I was always definitely coming up probably for sure ... but now it is unavoidable that you will all be presented the opportunity to sit through a DJRD set, as I have booked my travel plans. Woosh. :)

I just read back a bit in the thread.
-I am still available to help with whatever. Piano, drums, gung-ho guitaring in cowboy chord positions and/or frenetic picking, heavy lifting, heckler removal ....
-Mr Ranger isn't coming anymore :( ... but I might be bringing an old school friend with me.
-my set will be just me and if there's a piano/keyboard thingthing I shall play on that and I might bring a guitar or bum someone else's. Where I was placed is great.
-Wow! Yay, a baby, that is very exciting! Congratulations! :)

Shall I take the relative silence (except for the Socktothorpe swap) as everyone being happy with their position on the bill currently?

I still need to touch base with the venues, but I think this all looks pretty safe. Only consideration is that Miss Pizza may be better suited to full bandage, so acousticore acts (like me) might be best slotted on the first night. That said, I like the idea of a mixed set, and I think we can probably rig our set so that the transitions are fairly painless.

the Glennny project will be a band.
The Berkeley Social Scene will be a band.

Glennny has to be Friday due to the underage members.
Perhaps BSS should be on electric full band night rather than better suited acoustic night?

#3? Much as I liked #1, the flow of #3 builds nicely, like a well-crafted set. Thanks for the brain-sweat, yo!

#3 looks good to me! But I leave the ultimate decision-making to Niveous, who is smarter than me about this stuff!
