This falls into the "other crap" category.

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Sounds more like a Daily Roll Call post, but hey, whatever. Hope things pick up a little for you, MG.

Thanks.
Yeah, it didn't look like much was going on there except quotes of the day, so I wasn't sure based on this forum's description.

Truth be told, I've never been sure what the "...and other crap" was supposed to be. Maybe that was a catch-all for things like environmental issues and saving teh interwebz.

Hey man, I'm having some issues with job discontentment, myself. But hey, it pays for the instruments. :)

I hated being alone in my own office. I like open floor plans and shared space.

Every time life is getting you down, just click on FML.com and start reading. You will feel better about your life.
....also OP, always remember to end a post like that with, FML.

Today, after practising a song for my girlfriend on guitar all day, I called her over to my house to show it to her. After a long speech about how this is for you, I proceeded to play for about 3 seconds when I broke a string, which slapped her in her face. FML

Aside from the obvious, that you must be afraid of ghosts...

1. I don't like being treated like a second-class employee, especially when I'm not.
2. I get a lot of questions and now it makes things more complicated for those asking.
3. Nobody will stop by 'just to say hello' anymore.
4. I make a lot of noise when I work. It's how I express my creativity and vent my frustrations.
5. I require a specific temperature so I can focus on working and not how uncomfortable I am.
6. I can't lay on the floor anymore.
7. I can't use speakerphone.
8. I can't make personal phone calls from my office for appointments and such.

Yes, different jobs demand different environments. Not a good time to feel trapped in your job, so sorry about that. Maybe things will shape up in a few months.

A conversation I happened to have last night over dinner with some sympathetic friends (whom I don't see nearly often enough) made me realize I might need to start looking for other work sooner, rather than later. This owes in no small part to a shuffling of supervisors in my office. I don't know my new supervisor that well yet, but my old supervisor was one of the best in the department.

There's a lot of cognitive dissonance involved in my job, which I may write more about in this thread later (since this seems to have become the "gripe about your job" thread), but it's become more difficult to deal with ever since my boss isn't my boss anymore.
