The impression I got from reading Twitter/Tumblr/etc. was that they all said pretty much the same things, except Trump also added in some bonus jokes about the moderator's menstrual cycle.

I thought Rand Paul made a lot of sense. On the whole, it was pretty crazy though. That part where they asked them whether they had received word from God was cringeworthy. More cringeworthy than the rest of it, I mean.

Here's a considerably less crazy rendition of the debate:

The ONLY way we aren't screwed is if Bernie Sanders takes the election.

Yeah but then we'll still be screwed because can you imagine a Republican congress and senate doing anything whatsoever to support him, after the last 8 years of them barricading the relatively-centrist Obama on basically everything?

This. I'm a Bernie supporter, but he's going to hit the same "do nothing" congress Obama had to deal with.
BUT, I think Bernie is better at bringing people together and an experienced negotiator. I think he can reach across the isle better than Obama. Not that Obama didn't try.

Bernie has two obstacles to overcome with "certain" people in this country, even though he is what this country needs right now.
1. He's Jewish. To most people, that means nothing as a qualifier or not. I think the majority don't care. But those in this country that believe we should only have a xtian president are very loud.
2. He's a socialist democrat. The far right assume that means he's for pure socialism and the American people have been told for decades that socialism is the same thing as communism and McCarthyism made sure every American feared commies.

Bernie has made it clear that he wants a balance of capitalism and socially liberal programs to lift our dying middle class. A strong middle class will push all classes up as well as pulling up the lower class with them.

There's much more, but I don't want to make this tltr. ;)

I think it's interesting the way he's phrasing his recent push for marijuana legalization - he's doing it in a way that makes both sides happy, or at least should. For the liberals it's about decriminalizing a drug that's unfairly listed as being as bad as heroin; for the conservatives it's about maintaining state's rights and improving commerce.

If the Republicans can get past him being a socialist Jew and work with him on this, I'll be really impressed and a LOT more optimistic.

^ I meant to reply to how Sanders handled the MJ issue to give a solution on both sides. That's why I think Bernie is a great negotiator.

As I said, his two hurdles for some Americans are that he's Jewish and a socialist. These days the right are fawning all over Israel (and Net-the-Yahoo), so that's already softened. Now to ease the blow of democratic socialist.

I saw this a few months ago, but I was just reminded of it. I think it's great and should be passed around.

Every time I feel like Bernie has it locked up on the left, Hillary comes up with something new. Then Bernie fires back.

If Hillary wasn't so tightly intertwined with wall street and Goldman Sachs in general, I'd consider her more because she's moderate and more electable. Goal one, keep a dem as POTUS.

On the other hand, all of the old ways of thinking have gone out the window with this election and a non establishment progressive isn't so strange looking anymore. Because of that, the DNC and the Hillary camp are getting desperate.

One of the best lines in the last dem debate. After Hillary said that Bernie doesn't stand behind Obama's policies, he reminder her that she ran against Obama in 08. *set and spike* :)

As far as the repubs. Holy crap, they are a hot mess. And I love it, lol. Last nights repub debate was awesome! One of my favorite lines almost went unnoticed. When JEB! started ranting about how he is sick and tired of Trump attacking his family, and JEB! was talking about what a strong woman his mother is, you could hear Trump mumble "she should have ran". lmao! There were a few other gems as well.

Yeah I gotta say the best thing about a possible Trump nomination is that no matter who wins in the Dems, we're going to have a Dem President.

I don't know, Rone. It's looking like Hillary and Trump at this point, sadly....or hysterically. Depends on how you look at things. :P
Hillary is very establishment and obviously owned by big donors, no matter what she says. Trump owes nothing to anyone but himself. Polls show that Trump will dominate Hillary. A percentage of dems will flip if Hillary is the DNC nomination. Or vote for Jill Stein (a wonderful woman for the green party, but undetectable) or just write in, which are wasted votes.

Funny thing, polls show that Bernie would beat Trump in the general election. The establishment is so desperate to hold on to their oligarchy that they'll lose the white house out of spite. Bad day for them that Trump on the right is not part of their establishment game.
