It's a new month! The holiday season approaches!

And I've got a new album out! Woohoo!

Question of the Day: There's only one month left in the decade. Are you more or less where you thought you'd be now, ten years ago? There's still a month left; is that enough time to achieve any outstanding goals?

Ten years ago I was waiting for my first kid to show up (12/16), so I think the future pretty much looked like a blur. Or at least it seriously blurred two weeks from now ten years ago.

Apparently I'm going to be a guest at a local webcomics convention. I have absolutely no idea what I'll do there, what with having no merch to sell. Maybe I'll bring my netbook and put my entire comic archive on it or something, so people can browse it there? And work on comics on my laptop as some sort of feeble demonstration? I dunno.

In ten years, I've moved to the US, graduated an American high school, recorded 50+ songs, and am in university in Nashville, meeting country stars every other week.

Did not see this coming.

The decade doesn't end until the last day of 2010.

If this were the "201st decade" then that would make sense but it's not. Every day is the end of a decade of the last 10 years. Might as well put it when the odometer rolls over, rather than use a retrofit of some arbitrary year that doesn't even have that much to do with what the year is supposedly numbered based on.

You know, every end of a decade/century/millenium this debate crops up, and the way I see it, you can either be mathematical and pedantic about it, trying to convince the rest of the world that the decade doesn't change when the number on the end turns to 0... but then you're the pedantic guy that no one likes.

I think Spud had another argument for it, but I'll leave him to talk about it.

Ten years ago, I was saying "OH MAN I'm turning 30 right away, and I haven't accomplished anything". Now, I'm saying "OH MAN, I'm turning 40 right away, and I haven't accomplished anything."

Ten years ago I was an alpaca farmer on the Gold Coast. I was recently married and had recently arrived back in Australia after 2 years of living on a small atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Since then I have done other stuff. There has been no real plan.

The 2 puppies I bought 10 years ago are now waiting for me in a kennel. We don't take possession of the new house we bought until 15 Dec. Looking forward to that date so Inky and The Chief can come home. After traveling from the Gold Coast to Mount Isa to Brisbane to New Zealand and back - Inky and The Chief have had enough traveling.

I have several, but I have begun to just go with this one: You can't tell me that the year 1970 was part of the '60's. It was part of the '70's. Sorry.

The dogs (and cat) arrived back from NZ a about a month after we did. My daughter has assumed that they came on a flight just like us, but it was a special flight just for dogs. The dogs all sit in the seats and get to watch a selection of movies like "Lady & the Tramp" and "The Aristocats". Hosties bring them bones in little plastic containers.

I'm with Spud on this. Dionysius was pretty vague about what the calendar is based on, so there's no reason not to start decades on the even 10s.

Fascinating!
Ok, not really.
Ten years ago, I was working the same job as now (1997, in fact) so I guess work-wise I am.
I am now married and have a kid, and I know I was hoping for that but not really expecting it, so that was a change.
Musically I'd like to be doing more than I am now :)
I doubt I can get very much done before the end of Dec.
