This might be helpful for people wanting to scour the archive for artists who've entered only once with a given name:

http://sfjukebox.org/artists?maxFights=1

This will include a lot of collaborations involving people who entered other fights, though, so it's not perfect, but it's a start.

Abbot Presley was one of my favorites, but that was just Glenn Case being silly.

I rather liked Adam David Roberts, who won the "Why Are You Making Me Kick You Out?" fight ten years ago this week (which reminds me: the "Ten Years Ago" widget on the front page appears to be on the fritz).

Shark Tornado, if they count.

Man, whatever happened to him, anyway? I remember he even posted on the forums and was pretty enthusiastic about stuff but then he just suddenly stopped appearing and never entered again.

I remember his recording technique was a bit goofy - basically he recorded himself on a camcorder and then extracted the audio from that, and I think he was trying to get advice on how to have a better recording/editing technique.

Wow! Can you convince them to let us have Song fight live there next year?

I really like the synths and mood of Explode16 "Thunderstorm". Was that a sideproject or a real O.S.W.?
Insects Ahead "Accelerator" is great, but that is a collab. We covered that song!
Melody Generator "Space Cadet" ... again not sure if it's a collab.
Purdylips "Applesauce Baptism" is fantastic, j$ and Starfinger.
Interestingly enough, I was involved in at least 7 of the bands on that list. I guess I do a lot of one-off collabs.

That was Casey "Soda" Kolderup and one of his friends from college. If I wrack my brain enough, I'll remember the friend's name too.
Melody Generator "Space Cadet" ... again not sure if it's a collab.
Melody Generator was Ken Flagg, right? If I'm not mistaken, he's currently in MC Frontalot's band. He also entered once as "DaHikk" for "Step Up." I'm a little surprised that "Space Cadet" is the only song he entered as Melody Generator.
