What is your favorite Stevie Wonder song?

All Day Sucker, it's just so huge and funky!

There is a rumor that Frank (Zappa) jammed and recorded a version of All Day Sucker with Stevie Wonder. I have never been able to find a recording of this, frankly I wonder if it's true.

My favorite Stevie related moment was at a friends wedding, he was a sax player, he married a sax player. All the guests got Kazoos. I saw all these great musicians around me and I yelled out "Sir Duke!" everyone jumped on the kazoos jumped to the epic riff, it was awesome.

It's hard to go wrong with 60's and 70's Stevie Wonder, I'll listen to that guy for hours on end.

Man, and I thought picking a favorite Beatles song was hard.

After a little deliberation (and listening to Innervisions for my morning drive to work), I've settled on "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing." It's fun, it's funny, and it's musically adventurous to boot.

As with some of the artists asked about here, I'm really disappointed to neglect some other very worthy song choices in picking just one favorite. I assume that at least some of the others will be brought up by other people.

Being blind myself, I read a biography of Stevie Wonder several years ago, and I thought it was an interesting story. I've known the song Someday at Christmas all my life, and Heaven is just Ten Zillion Light Years Away. But picking a favorite is tough! Probably Someday at Christmas, but I know if I listened to a lot more Stevie Wonder, I would change my mind; I'm missing out, guys!

That sounds awesome. "Sir Duke" is my fave.

Superstitions.

Two things I've mentioned here at the mighty Song Fight through the years. 1. I'm a closet funker. 2. I was born to riff.

I still remember sitting on the corner of my bed as a teenager with my old classical acoustic guitar learning the guitar riff in Superstition. The groove of that song is intoxicating, the cool drum intro and the guitar riff would jump into my brain randomly. I'd be walking down the sidewalk and BAM, superstition would pop in my head. I'd suddenly start walking like Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch. When Mrs Kravitz would see me from her window, she probably thought I was possessed or had some kind of physical turrets.

What fluffy said. I can thank the Red Hot Chili Peppers for introducing me to this. Sadly, my knowledge of Stevie Wonder is severely limited (I know about 4 songs), while my appreciation of him, per song, is pretty high. Time to download yet another torrent brought on by these damn Daily threads.

Yeah, the last two weeks' worth of DRC threads have been a pretty good rock primer.

For Stevie Wonder, I would suggest (uncontroversially, I think) that you start with Songs in the Key of Life. However, my personal favorite Stevie album is the aforementioned Innervisions.
