I should have expanded the first part of my conjunction (don't understand motion controls) a bit more. Physical motion controls really should map at least somewhat to physical actions. Developers tend to just treat gestures as some sort of button, which they're not.

At least it sounds like they considered the second part though.

Captain Rainbow for the Wii but I don't understand anything that is going on because it's a Japanese import... doh!

P.S. Hey fluffy, lets make a Wii game...

i think it's pretty expensive to get the wii developer kit.

speaking of accidental motion controls, sometimes in super mario galaxy i spin accidentally when i am just moving my arm, so i have experienced this also.

Dev kit? We don't need no stinkin' Dev kits! Just need to use DevkitPro! (and it is a Dev kit... heh) I have used it to make craptastic GBA demos in the past... and had some preliminary developments on a DS game... fantastic! Homebrew baby!

Do a ps2 game! I hear the kits for it are crazy cheap now.

Why would I do that when I have a perfectly good PS3 dev kit sitting right next to me?

Because ps2 would be a lot easier, and I haven't played a ps3 game I like. :P

Actually the PS3 is way easier to program than the PS2 (IMO).

Do you actually program stuff for those consoles? Cause that's sweet. For real.

I program for the PS3 and a couple other platforms. I have dabbled in PS2 in the past and it's a major pain in the butt.

That isn't to say that the PS3 is a cakewalk or anything, but it's still a lot easier than people give it credit for.

Got my import version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom the other day... been rockin' out to that. Still haven't beat the end boss tho. However, I have found out some strategies that I will try tonight! Wish me luck! ;)

Christmas was about Fallout 3 (which i finished but then can't seem to go back into the world to explore some more without restarting from level 1 - so no go) and Little Big Planet - which is fun but I can't be arsed to get into designing yet, so ...

Just thought you'd all like to know ...

MaBoShi: The Three Shapes Arcade, which Nintendo renamed "Maboshi's Arcade" for the US release (a move that makes their opinion of our intelligence perfectly clear).

What a wonderful little game, or rather, collection of games. Two of the three are played with just one button, and the third is played with just the d-pad. And the three games affect each other when played side by side.

I love simple little games like this, so it's right up my alley. "Bar" is my favorite.

That looks like fun. Maybe I'll fire up my Wii for the first time in a while.

My current obsessions are Cave Story and PixelJunk Eden. Both of them have excellent soundtracks (Cave Story being chiptunes, PJE being wonderful ambient techno which adapts to the game, like Rez but even moreso), and both have a nice minimal aesthetic (Cave Story being pixel-art, PJE being flowy organic vector art).

Right now I'm on my second playthrough of Cave Story, this time delaying my weapon upgrades as much as possible (since the longer you wait the better they are). My first time through I could never quite beat the final boss so I'm hoping the second time I'll do better, since I didn't really have much trouble at any point before then and I didn't know what the impact would be of me taking the earliest possible upgrades.

Cave Story is also coming out for the Wii "soon" with improved graphics (still pixelated!) and music (no idea what the style is like but every single track is being approved by the original creator), and there will also be options for the original graphics and/or sound. The Wii version will also have more hidden areas (the original has a lot of hidden stuff too, not to mention choices which profoundly affect the flow of the game). So I'm looking forward to it, and it might even be the first WiiWare title I buy. (All my other Wii DLC has been Virtual Console games.)

Looking forward to Cave Story Wii. Wait, you downloaded Mega Man 9 for your PS3 right? Because that would be inexcusable not to download it for your Wii (unless you got it for PS3)... ;) I'm still playing Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, I've finally beaten the end boss (actually quite a few times awhile ago...) Hooked up my Japanese Dreamcast and have been playing all my Snk & Capcom fighting games too.

I got MM9 for PS3 yes. I wanted absolute clarity in how well the low-quality graphics and sound were reproduced. Plus I like the PS3 controller a lot better than the Wii's and at the time I didn't have a classic controller for the Wii.

If Cave Story were coming to PS3 as well I'd definitely be getting it there instead. I actually played parts of it with the PS3 controller on my Mac (via this driver) and it was rather nice, although a bit annoying in that it only supported the analog stick rather than the D-pad (a limitation in Cave Story, not in the driver).

Cool comic fluffy, I take it Nobi Nobi Boy is fun... I would be playing Street Fighter IV on my Xbox 360... if Capcom didn't email me to tell me that my pre-order was a back-order... :(
