It was a very close battle but in the end, Puce defeated FBF to win the Nur Ein!

The final score: Puce- 26, FBF- 25.

Puce started off the Nur Ein very strong with a victory in the Sister Cocaine fight. Then in the 3rd round wowed everything with a dynamic collaboration with Songfight legend Brad Sucks and won that round as well. Then in the 5th round, Puce almost faced elimination but he narrowly beat out his Mostly Harmless bandmate Plat by 1 point to stay in the competition. Puce returned to form in the sixth round, winning the Last Hope battle. And now, he reigns supreme as the last one standing, winner of the 2007 Nur Ein!!!! Glückwünsche!!!!!!

I'm guessing that not everyone voted, and that a vote for artist A meant 2 points for A and 1 point for B

aka 9 to 8.

OK, back to work. More thoughts later, but I'd just like to say thanks to Plat and Frankie for being good sports about me totally screwing you guys over. And thanks a billion to all the judges, and of course Niv for setting this whole thing up.

1 point for losing? How american

Hey I don't care - I was just curious. FBF and Puce know I am consistently a big fan of their stuff, so either way I'm happy someone good won.

Congrats to Puce! Both songs were super good.

Wasn't there a super special judges round last year? Is that happening again?

congrats puce. was there ever any doubt you'd be in the finals?

also, mr. big face, it's good to have gotten so much nice new music from you lately, so for that you are also to be highly commended. again, i had a feeling you might get this far, and the stuff i've heard is really solid and good to have you writing and recording again.

a slight chuckle as it seems like you're the king of the bridesmaids. you and sober. :)

Congratulations Puce! Congratulations to Frankie for a very respectable second place finish. These last two rounds were so close! Thanks again to the judges for organizing such a fun (though grueling) tournament that produced quite a few good tunes.

PS Maybe Puce should have to face off against Glenn Case now to determine who is really "The Nur Ein"? ;)

Also, I was bored and made up these tables of the results of the two Nur Eins:

http://people.geneticmail.com/sam/nur_ein_table.html

They're not necessarily accurate in terms of the ordering of the entrants (at least not for Nur Ein 2006), but I thought they were an interesting way to visualize the results.

Extremely cool chart. As for Puce vs. Case, I think way down the line there should be a challenge of champions but I think that's way way down the line.

Yeah, I did set up a round for the judges last year. As the winner, I think Puce would be the one who would extend such a challenge if he wants to.

ROCK!
