Okay. They should work now. A weird set of link mistakes. I'll fix the LJ later in the day.

Damn, my song is way under volume'ized compared to the other songs. I pushed it up as high as I could without compressing the crap out of it. Maybe I should try that G-snap that Glenn was talking abooot.

Bryan K, JB, # and Paco's songs aren't working from the list. But the songs that are working are pretty damn good.

edit: I see BK, JB and # posted their own links and they are good too. Now for Paco's song and I'll be fulfilled.

Spud, I thought another song accidentally started playing in the background when your chorus started. I started closing windows wondering, what the hey? Then I paused your song and realized it was intensional.

Also, do I need to fix my post in the Song, results, etc. (no comments) thread? (I guess I could just go try the songs.)

EDIT: And the answer is yes and now that thread is fixed too.

I decided to take the day off, so what's better than listening to awesome music and making a few comments?
.....well, besides sex and cake, of course.

Adam Adamant - Nice vocal harmonies. Interestingly cool beat sig. Nice song.

ADD - I'll have to admit that I'm new to the ADD, even though I know you've been around SF for a long time with many fans here. I see why, because you make some great fucking music. I love your sense of melody and arrangement. This song stands true to that. Very cool!

Billy's Little Trip - You can't see me right now, but I'm doing the robot

Bryan Kandel - Beautiful acoustic tone and nice vocals. Very soothing melody. Nice song.

Frankie Big Face - I love the time sig on the intro piano. One of my favorite contemporary jazz band is Flim and the BB's. Not sure if you are familiar with them, but your piano has that same cool vibe. But you have something that Flim doesn't have, that famous Frankie voice and writing style. Love this song.

Glenn & Rachael - Damn, Rachael has such a sweet voice. If she's half as sweet as her voice, you're going to get the diabetes, Glenn. I love the guitar chords, bass is grooving, melody is nice, choir vocals are grand. Yep, excellent song.

Jim Tyrrell - Wow Jim, awesome. Just voices and fingers snaps, but so full of sound. I like this!

John Benjamin Band - Oh, nice build. I really like to mix of the do do's and uh oh's. Very dramatic song. *slowly waves my glow stick in the air* Good song, Sir.

Ken Mahru - I have to say, I like this song best of your NE3 songs, thus far. This is so straight forward bad ass rock. The melody is great, the musicianship is top notch and the vocal harmonies are dynamic and the lyrics are cool. Yep, I like this song.

Octothorpe - Hookah intro, lol. I swear, you guys are one of a kind. I just can't help but smile when I listen to this. This makes me slip away on a mental vacation where everyone is wearing Birkenstock's and sitting around in paisley bean bag chairs discussing the meaning of life. *snap* Ok, I'm back. Thank you for that little journey #. Fun song.

Paco del Stinko - Awesome guitar work. Very luring melody. Cool harmony vocals. Your choir is great! I wish I could have gotten my choir to sound this good. This is like a shortened version of a rock opera. I'd love to also hear the long version. I didn't want the heavy part to end. Very cool tune, Chuckles.

Ross Durand - Rock out, bro. This is groovin', Ross. Sweet guitar solo. The vocal harmonies are cool. I like your sliding guitars at the end, nice touch, lol.

Starfinger - Cool, this hits low. I can't wait to hear this on my truck system. I have 12" subs and this will sound awesome. This song has all kinds of cool production elements going on. Sounds cool, I like this.

Tex Beaumont and the Dirty Hearts - Cool twist on gospel. Erie, creepy and unique. Very creative idea, Tex. The production on this song is great. The distorted Nazi voice gives me chills. I like this, a lot.

The Worldly Self Assurance - As usual, great instrumentation, perfect vocal gelling, the harmonies are great. I like when this song started really rocking. Good song, guys.

Damn, I haven't heard the name Flim and the BBs in, like, 20 years. I don't even remember how I know them. Hang on...(consults All-Music Guide)...okay, I believe I owned the Tricycle album at one point and possibly another. I love when stuff like this happens. I absolutely have no idea what they sound like anymore. Anyway, I'm glad you like the song. It has all kinds of problems and you were kind enough not to mention any of them. :)

I hope to get a complete set of comments out tonight - but since it is so quiet here I thought I'd say...

Bryan Kandel - I think you've got the best song this week, graceful, poetic, everything in the right place.

I apologize in advance that so far the judges' picks for number one haven't matched mine, so I hope I didn't Jinx ya.

Great song.

Normally I don't talk negatively about my song before it's been judged because I don't want to influence the judging. But this time around, there are so many things that have me scratching my head and basically feeling terrible that I've decided to provide a public service to all by making the following chart of bad and good things about my song to be used for ease of reviewing. For example, BLT's recent review would look something like this: (G4,N3) Let's get started!

Goods
G1 - I like those marching band sounds
G2 - I like how it builds up at the end
G3 - Some of the lyrics are clever
G4 - That's a good piano riff
G5 - I like how you worked the challenge into the lyrics
G6 - Original take on the title.
Gx - Write in your own!

Bads
B1 - Your mix is weird
B2 - Your singing is flat
B3 - Your lyrics are kind of dumb
B4 - The acoustic sounds like crap
B5 - Those backing vocals - NO!
B6 - I don't get it.
Bx - Write in your own!

Neutrals (can be changed to Good or Bad depending on your perspective)
N1 - Reminds me of "Let 'Em In" by Paul McCartney
N2 - Is about two metronome clicks too slow
N3 - Sounds like Flim and the BBs

As an aside, even though I think this song may result in my elimination (haven't heard the other songs yet), I learned a lot about Logic working on this song (editing MIDI stuff, creating sub-mixes, the differences in available sounds between Logic Studio and Logic Express, how to fade out, some audio editing stuff, etc.) so I am happy about that.

And here is my rating of my song: (G2,G4,B1,B2,B4,B5,N1,N2). HOORAY.

Just some thoughts. It may sound like im gushing at times, but its only because this round is so amazing.
Each round of this Nur Ein 3 has been outstanding. So bravo on an awesome set of songs….and woe to the judges who have to make cuts.

Adam adamant! :Your voice sounds great in the choral bits. Great use of challenge. The simple beat and music highlight the nice vocals. Some of the vocal syncing could have been a butch tighter, but I do the same exact thing so you get a pass on that from me. Its barely noticeable anyway, and when they sound that good who really cares. Great song.

ADD: wow! I love your voice. I like the energy. This song is stellar! Kinda reminds me of OK GO.
LOVE it!!

BLT: you are one of my favorite fighters. Vocals sound better than your usual song. This is a really fun song.

BK: beautiful music! Great voice. melancholy floatation device. I am a sucker for this kind of thing. I see nothing wrong with this song.

FBF: smooth. I like how the song builds. I like the song for the songs sake. it’s a little too cruise boat for my specific taste, but it is a solid bit of music.

Glen and Rachel
: I like it. The backing vox are really cool. I am leaning toward liking glens verses better than rachels on this song. You both have great voices.

Jim tyrrell: I guess you made the best use of the challenge! It sounds really great! Good story and lyrics.

The JBBand: the do do’s are great. The voices all sound right on the money! Great song. Always pulled in by a war story. The chorus at the end is awesome!!

Ken Mahru: all in all this song is a keeper. The ah ahs sound really good.

Octothorpe
:love the intro. I like the take on the use of choral vocals. Not only did you use more that one voice, you also sang about coral!

Paco: the guitar work really grabs me. I like when the other instruments kick in. I wish one or two of them stayed in for the remainder.

Ross: this is exactly the kind of energy I envy so much. It seems so effortless for you. Kinda smacks of dire straights, which is good, at least from my perspective.

Starfinger
: sampled choral vocals? It works.

Tex&Dirty
: the storm effect adds a cool dynamic.

The WSA: it is chilling and awe inspiring to work with these guys. I really like the songs we crank out.

I have no idea who might go. Great set everyone.
Thanks for the frisbee is on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music ect.
