Would you really expect Paul, George, John and Ringo to all vote the same?

The judging works out pretty strangely sometimes. You can win by being well rated by all the judges, without necessarily getting ranked #1 by anybody, if the judges are more split on how they're ranking their other favorites. And you can get ranked #1 by a couple judges and still not win if the other judges absolutely hate your song. Anyway, for me the bottom line is that it is best not to try to think too much about the judging and how it will all play out, as it's totally unpredictable to me.

The game changes as the field of contestants gets smaller. Solid writing and recording and performing will carry you to about 7th place. The last 2 or 3 rounds you have to do something risky and special hoping to stand above your competition. Even though the rounds are judged on that particular song only, we have heard your previous entries, so a lack of variation from them might be detrimental. If you entered "Hey Jude" I'd rate it very high, but if the next week you entered "Isn't it a Pity", I'd think much less of "Isn't it a Pity" than I would if you had entered "Dig a Pony" the week previous.

The opinions expressed are not necessarily the opinions of any judge other than myself.

No doubt. Sting and Stewart would fight each other over it.

Sting: "No way, you big C*NT. Howl Down the Chimney sucked!"
Stewart: "Howl Down the Chimney was GREAT, you arrogant TWAT!" <smack!>

Then Kyle McLachlan busts in with his Fremen eyes and kicks Sting for even suggesting that Howl Down the Chimney's track sucked!

You missed Spud, Mad Dog, Elvis, Crash, and sometimes fluffy. I am pretty sure our votes would be all over the map.

Here's another remix that you may or may not like better than the original. It should be easier on the computer speakers/ipod headphones anyway.
