Pacing the house, muttering "Arrr...chitect" in the same tone/cadence as Hugo Weaving ("The Matrix") said "Mister... Annnnderson". This bodes interesting, especially with my additional Round One tradition/topic.

The "Round" doesn't bother me in the least. :D

Now I'm confused. A round of WHAT?

You forced me to Google it.

OK. Now I know what you're looking for. And boy, are you going to get it.

So, what is everyone having? Beer OK?.

Oh - and I'm only shouting a round for the judges. The rest of you are on your Pat Malone.

I'll be, uh, joining everyone this round.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

@ CRay: Damn, one day I'll get to mooch a VB. But I'll pro'lly wind up paying for the round anyway, heh. In the meantime I'll continue working on brewing an ESB with just the right amount of sage, tentatively labeled "Bitter Sage". Unemployment... the money sucks, but the time for projects is quite satisfying.

Crap. I just emotionally got over the problem that inspired my first song and now I can't use it on principle. Back to the drawing board.

Why? This isn't the shouting challenge ;)

Doing cliché searches on my lyrics and not happy about the results. Maybe I should just write a song about Spud. But I can't, because that would negate my own principles for Round One. Touché, BenKrieger, artist.

just finished up some super simple, super bitter and cynical lyrics. fun! i have an instrumental track cooking that began as straight up manchester post punk but slowly began getting more fuzzy and pitch shifty. tomorrow i hit my practice space to get some vocals done. should be interesting.

It should be. I have spent a significant portion of my professional life shouting at architects.

I got nothing.
Trying desperately not to let "Frank LLoyd Wright" or "Mies van der Rohe" slip into any lyric ideas.

I got a bunch of petulance and attitude is what I got. And a couple really dodgy rhymes that will NEVER see the light of day which perhaps I will immortalize in a hall of shame later.

People, people--it's only Wednesday. You should wait at least until Saturday before giving this any thought at all. Go watch Modern Family or Animal Planet or something. There's not nearly enough pressure on you right now to be productive. Denise, in four days those rhymes are going to look so much better to you when you are virtually out of time.

Bastard, now FLW (Simon and Garfunkel) is in my head  Good trash talk!

@Frankie: I know! So I said sod it all and read "Life, the Universe, and Everything", "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish", and edited another 20-odd pages of my wife's book instead.

I have a song slowly coalescing. I also have some inspiration after going to a stately home yesterday. It had a clock tower with a gold face, a massive fountain with an oyster shell and cherubs and the pointiest hedges you ever did see. Apparently it was built as a hunting lodge. Some people have too much money and no taste :)
