I just fucked up my back big time. This is going to make recording this song very difficult. Nur Ein?

If y'all were looking for collaborators, you might have thought to post somewhere OUTSIDE of the Nur Ein thread. Past participants might not be following this thread as closely as current participants. Just sayin'.

DONE! I'll do a final tweak tonight before I send it, but it's great.

Ligers with Attitude wrote the lyrics and initial chord changes. I kept the feel, recorded/arranged it, did the melodies, voices, reworked the chords and lyrics a bit and added the field recordings of a screaming child.

That is pretty sensible advice.

I hate the point in this process where I have lost all ability to know if my song is great or garbage, whether I need to add more if there is already too much, etc.....

Once again I keep telling myself I just have to beat 4 :-)

Okay, I'm in. Must now go lay down and hope I can stand up tomorrow.

By the way, I forgot to include in my entry that my guest is Student Band (from Nur Ein IV). I mentioned it earlier, but perhaps the judges don't read everything. They provided drums, bass and backing vocals.

Sending mine now. The collab with Lord Of Oats came through in the end thanks to some fantastic transatlantic rap dedciation :)

The judges may like to know that all (both?) the samples used are from previous Nur Ein songs. The drums are from Jon Eric's Silver Tongue and the main guitar synthy bit is from Howl Down The Chimney's Bullets and Lovers. Hopefully they don't mind the usage.

Now I must sleep.

Then you got a two-fer. The drums on my "Silver Tongue" were provided by r. mosquito, who is also a previous Nur Ein competitor (as one half of the super-duo Cock). Awesome!

A two-fer half-Cocked? Awesome. Only in 3 collabs, not four, as it turns out. Plus ça change, plus ça méme chose...

Sorry, I'll go back to strumming plaintive progressions on the acoustic and humming to myself now.

Gmail says I sent the thingy at 4.00 pm.

Many thanks to Rabid Garfunkel for his contribution. In the rush to get the mp3 out I forgot to change the tag to reflect his involvement -- sorry about that. It should be obvious enough anyway :).

You know, I have to say, collaborating with a song fighter was much easier than trying to get my (ex) girlfriend to sing last year for the guest round.

If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.
