Oh man. We're all writing our songs in the shadow of Phoebe Kreutz on this one:

Oh my.

I fear this round may be my undoing, because:
  • 1. Elizabeth the Great
  • 2. Whatever bacteria or disease I have caught is showing no signs of subsiding; today's gifts the virus has left me include a dull-pained, doughy lump in my throat upon swallowing and a completely plugged left ear.
  • 3. This weekend is THE long weekend of the year in Canada. The car is packed and we are on the road as soon as the kids get home from school on Friday, out of town until Monday night. Which gives me just over 48 hours to submit.
This may be the last you hear from me. Speak of me kindly when I am gone.
Tell my wife I love her.

I've got a crazy idea for the tempo change that should be fun and I already had this plan for doing educational songs (my next project after I get booted from Nur Ein) ... so ... if I base this one on Elizabeth I ... should be a fit.

Well when you've been right on the cusp time after time ... ;) I'm surprised I made it especially considering I got the title wrong. I did think my chorus was really strong last time around so I was hoping that would save me (along with Sausage's great guitar solo) so I guess it did.

But yeah - I do have a lot of stuff I want to work on that has been pushed to the side by this whole deal so in a way I'm looking forward to being booted. That said; I'm going to give it the best I've got with the time I have to do it! Hopefully people are getting more and more used to my annoying vocal effect (and yes, I think it's annoying too) because despite protests... I won't be changing it. It's essential to this Chocolate Chips deal (for a variety of insane reasons that would probably result in me being put in a special home if I were to share...) My name isn't really Frederick.

Excellent.

After having already written a song about Catherine the Great (http://caravanray.bandcamp.com/track/under-the-horse), this will ft in well with my planned concept album - "It's A Significant Female Monarchs of the 16th to 18th Centuries Dance Party!"

I need a lyrical artist to pull this one off.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

I figured you may be responsible for this, but then I remembered Noah is a judge. So I'm gonna go ahead and blame him.

In a new house - but still unpacking. At least I have internet now.

And since there appear to be only 2 members of the Commonwealth still involved here - let me help out the American contingent with some research:

I've got it. I'll be lucky to finish it, and the judges will hate it, but it will be awesome to my ears.

I haven't even started mine yet. I did record something called "three harpsichords and a drum machine" that is sort of where I'm thinking of going with this "Elizabeth The Great" deal.

I beat Diablo 3 on normal last night.
Suppose it's time to make a song.
