Well, there seems to be a pattern this year... Just like in previous rounds, the high quality of the songwriting is giving me a devil of a time making my mind up. You guys all did such great work this year, and I honestly have no clue who's going to win. Congratulations to all three of you for making it this far, and may the best song win!

Do people get a reminder email telling them to listen and vote in the finals, with instructions on how to vote...?

I did. Quoth the Niveous: The Nur Ein has reached the final round. As an eliminated competitor, your vote helps decide the winner. You can listen to both songs at nurein.songlander.com and then reply to this email by tomorrow night to vote for your favorite.
I'll have one more listen right now. I think I already have a favorite, but I'll listen closely one more time nonetheless. :)

Voted. Also, enjoyed Ken's Nein. Thanks for posting it!
No Nein for me. I didn't have anything memorable until about 18 minutes after deadline, then realized that it was severe rip-off of Bruno Mars [melody & lyrics] and Rush [progression].

Yeah, Ken's Nein was great!

In Merisan's entry, the way "stars" is sung in the second verse sounds strange to me, a bit off key. Which is weird, since your vocals are perfect most of the time. Was that done on purpose? :?:
By the way, your song sounds a lot like some Nerina Pallot song, though I'm not sure which one. Something off Fires, maybe "Geek Love" or "Mr. King". I'm not sure. You've probably never even heard of her. I'm not accusing you of plagiarism or anything, it's just the song's feel, I believe. :)

Yes, I sang it that way on purpose.
That is my singing style.
I believe one might consider it a " grace note " in the jazzy/bluesy world.
Also, I have never heard of that other artist you mentioned, so any similarity was totally a coincidence.
Eeep-opp-orp-opp-opp...that means I love you!

Yeah, I thought so. It just bugged me for weeks that your music reminded me of some other artist, but I had no idea who. Then, with that last song, I finally knew. If you're interested in her work, check out "Everybody's Gone to War". Great song.

The final vote is photo finish close. I wanna wait until morning to see if any last minute votes come in. So, I will reveal the winner at 9AM Eastern time.

And it really is that close.

That'll do me as a win as far as I'm concerned.

I liked my song a lot - but after hearing Merisan, I didn't feel so confident anymore. Great song guys - great melody. Easily my favourite of yours over the competition (just as mine was also the favourite of my own). Pretty good last round I think. I think we both passed the challenge.

Damn - I was hoping you would forget.

I happened to drop into Tom's Listening party chatroom after everyone had left and saw some remains of old conversations. I think Glennny's is one for you Sam/Erin.

Three cheers for the Tydon Docks! Hip hip hoo-RAY! Great job and congratulations. Don't ever give up, wonderful Merisan, although I plan to return to form and win next year. ;)

Thanks to Niv, and all of the judges for another great contest. Your labors are appreciated. Long live the EIN!

Congratulations to Caravan Ray! The dust has settled and only one remains, etc etc. This truly was a banner year for you, and it's a delight to see you crowned champion. Let me know if you'd like to carry on the tradition of joining the judging panel following your victory.
